The Heckler&Koch UMP submachine gun is a more modern successor to the world-famous MP5 submachine gun. The abbreviated name UMP is derived from the full nomenclature of the pistol Universal Machine Pistol.
UMP pistols are powered by pistol ammunition in three calibers: 9mm Parabellum, .45ACP and .40 S&W. Depending on the cartridge that feeds a given pistol model is called UMP 9, UMP 45 and UMP 40. UMP pistol replicas are made just like their combustible counterpart - from plastic and metal. The plastic used for the body, flask and grip is highly resistant to mechanical damage.
UMP replicas come primarily in two types of power supply - gas and electric. The guns externally feature adjustable mechanical sights and a full range of RIS mounting rails for mounting tactical equipment. The side-folding flask, used in UMP replicas, allows easy maneuvering in tight spaces and makes the gun easier to transport.
