PMR (Private Mobile Radio - professional mobile radios, so called walkie talkies ) is a service available in the European area that allows private individuals to communicate using handheld, relatively inexpensive radios. The direction in which the development of digital radio communication will take place is shown by the new second generation of devices. The form and shape of PMR devices resemble cell phones. The new apparatuses are extremely small, disavowing the old stereotype of professional radio devices, which had to be large, clunky apparatuses that looked like first-generation cell phones. They bothered the user primarily with their weight, which was up to 2 kilograms.
