The MA1 is designed for reversible wear, allowing it to be used on both the right and left side. The lining features a high-visibility orange color, directly inspired by the original function of MA-1 jackets for USAF pilots. In emergency situations such as accidents or crashes, this feature significantly increased the likelihood of being spotted by search and rescue teams. Presently, such a practical detail proves highly beneficial when walking along poorly lit roads outside urban areas.

The main closure of the MA-1 Heritage model features a single-direction zipper equipped with a synthetic leather pull tab, enabling easy use even with gloves on. An internal insulated strip runs along the zipper to deliver extra defense against cold conditions. Elastic ribbed sections at the collar, cuffs, and hem offer protection from the cold while enhancing the overall fit.
