Green gas-powered M9 AI pistol is an accurate replica of the American sidearm, in use by the US armed forces since 1989.
Constructed entirely from metal, the pistol's added weight contributes to a realistic feel. The magazine, housed within the grip, holds 25 BBs in 6 mm caliber.
With every trigger pull, the slide recoils backward (blow back), cocking the hammer, and then returns forward, chambering a BB to be fired at a velocity of 295 fps. When the magazine is empty, the slide locks in the rear position, and can be released via the slide release lever.
The trigger system includes both SA (Single Action - the trigger releases a hammer previously cocked by the slide or manually) and DA (Double Action - pulling the trigger fully both cocks and releases the hammer each time).
As with the live firearm, the trigger mechanism can be secured using a bilateral lever safety. In the "safe" position (block - red dot covered), the safety disconnects the trigger from the firing system (valve striker), preventing accidental shots and protecting the mechanisms.
Precision is increased with an adjustable hop-up system, which applies backspin to the BB, providing rotational movement similar to bullets fired from a rifled barrel.
A Weaver rail beneath the barrel allows for mounting accessories such as a laser sight or tactical flashlight.
The gun includes fixed front and rear sights. A starter pack of BBs and a pouch are included.
