It is not a popular replica, which is a pity, as in my opinion it is one of the more interesting and underrated options on the market. When used "as intended," that is, as a sidearm replica for close range and indoors, it is somewhat of a midpoint between, for example, the P90 or ARP9—these provide full stability and high firepower, but carrying them as a sidearm is very cumbersome—and pistols, which have lower firepower and require a lot of training to shoot quickly and accurately, but do not overly restrict movement or space on your belt/vest. The main competitors in terms of application for the USW are replicas like the MP7, M10/M11, MP9, Vz. 61, and similar, where in this group of "intermediate replicas" the USW is the closest to classic pistols. The quality of workmanship is surprisingly good, and its effective range allows it to compete to some extent even with modified electric replicas in open terrain. For this reason, I would risk saying that "using as intended" might also include the USW as a main replica—although in this case, it is not a replica for everyone and every condition. As for drawbacks, the biggest problem for the USW is its low popularity, so there are no dedicated tuning parts available on the market. Regarding the mechanism, the replica still uses a tilted barrel, which may be true to the original, but it negatively affects accuracy as such, and causes further loss of accuracy as the moving parts wear out. The hop-up adjustment system is somewhat irritating since it requires tools (flat screwdriver) and disassembling of the replica, and there’s also no protective nut for the outer barrel thread included. Unfortunately, if an accessory stock in the style of B&T for AAP01 replicas is created, the USW will basically lose its reason for existence.
