Benchmade Raghorn CPM-S30V Fixed Blade Knife - Satin/OD Green

A survival knife designed for field work and demanding conditions, where durability and a secure grip are crucial. This model features a Full Tang construction, meaning the blade steel extends the entire length of the handle. This design significantly increases resistance to stress, improves stability, and minimizes the risk of damage even during heavy-duty tasks.

high-quality CPM-S30V stainless steel

The blade is made of high-quality CPM-S30V stainless steel. It features a precisely formulated alloy containing carbon, chromium, molybdenum, and vanadium. The carbon content is approximately 1.45%, which ensures high hardness and long-lasting edge retention.

Chromium provides excellent corrosion resistance, making S30V steel suitable for a variety of environments, even harsh ones. The addition of molybdenum and vanadium increases the steel’s wear resistance and improves its strength. The blade has been hardened to 58–60 HRC.

drop-point blade profile

The Drop-Point-profile blade provides excellent cutting control. This type of geometry works well for both precision tasks and jobs requiring greater pressure. The flat grind, enhanced by SelectEdge technology, improves cutting performance and precision.

The blade is finished using the satin finish method, resulting in a semi-matte surface that minimizes the visibility of fine scratches. The model features jimping, which improves control when applying pressure with the thumb, as well as an index finger notch that facilitates precise handling of the knife.

G10 handle with non-slip texture

The handle scales are made of durable G10 laminate in green, which is resistant to mechanical damage and chemical exposure. Additional knurling on the tang, combined with the textured surface of the scales, increases grip, ensuring a secure hold even in challenging conditions. At the end of the handle, there is a hole for a lanyard, providing additional protection against losing the knife.

Boltaron sheath included

The set includes a sheath made of Boltaron, a durable thermoplastic that is resistant to scratches, chemicals, and temperature changes. The orange color of the sheath makes it easy to quickly locate the knife in the field and increases its visibility.

Benchmade Knife Company is an American brand founded in 1988 by Les de Asis in Oregon, with roots going back to the 1970s, when it operated as Bali-Song. The company became famous for producing folding and combat knives, and its butterfly logo refers to the first balisong models - awarded the title of Knife of the Year in 1979. Today, Benchmade makes knives in three lines: Blue Class, Black Class, and Gold Class, using modern powder steels such as S30V, M390, and CPM-20CV, as well as the patented Axis Lock, valued for its reliability and smooth operation. Among the brand's icons are the Griptilian, Bugout, 940 Osborne, Infidel, and Bushcrafter models, and the company regularly works with respected knifemakers such as Mel Pardue, Warren Osborne, and Ernest Emerson. Benchmade was the first knife manufacturer in the USA to implement fully automated CNC production, which made it possible to achieve previously unseen precision and repeatability in the industry.

CPM S30V feature
CPM S30V
CPM S30V is a powder stainless steel developed by Crucible Industries in collaboration with knifemaker Chris Reeve. It is distinguished by its precisely selected formula, containing carbon, chromium, molybdenum, and vanadium. The carbon content is approximately 1.45%, which ensures high hardness and long-lasting sharpness. Chromium (approximately 14%) is responsible for very good corrosion resistance, which makes S30V steel suitable for use in various, even difficult environments. Additions of molybdenum (approximately 2%) and vanadium (approximately 4%) increase the steel's wear resistance and improve its strength. As a result, CPM S30V provides an optimal balance between hardness, strength, and corrosion resistance, making it an ideal choice for the production of high-quality knives. After heat treatment, the steel achieves a hardness of 58-61 HRC, which is crucial for maintaining a sharp edge and resistance to deformation under stress.
SelectEdge feature
SelectEdge
SelectEdge is a patented Benchmade sharpening technology in which the edge is formed at a 14-degree angle on each side. This precise process guarantees exceptional sharpness, longer cutting performance, and greater effectiveness than traditional methods. Combined with high-strength steels, the result is durable and reliable blades that match the quality of professional surgical tools and are suitable for tasks requiring maximum precision and control.
G10 feature
G10
G10 is a lightweight and extremely durable material, considered one of the best for knife production. It is created by pressure-pressing fiberglass with phenolic resin, which gives it high durability and resistance to mechanical damage. It is chemically inert, does not conduct electricity, and retains its properties at both low and high temperatures. In terms of parameters, it is similar to carbon fiber, but its production is much cheaper. G10 handles are manufactured by precision cutting and cutting, which increases the cost of processing but ensures a perfect fit and long knife life.
Satin feature
Satin
Satin finishing is one of the most popular blade finishes, achieved by grinding the steel with fine-grained abrasives. Parallel micro-scratches remain on the surface, giving the knife a technical, matte appearance. Satin finishing has both aesthetic and practical significance - a smoothed blade is easier to clean, and the slightly reduced friction promotes smoother cutting. Depending on the direction and intensity of polishing, different effects are achieved - from a matte finish to an almost mirror-like finish. Satin is valued in both utility and collector's knives because it emphasizes the structure and quality of the steel while maintaining functionality.
Boltaron feature
Boltaron
Boltaron is a new generation thermoplastic material used in the same applications as Kydex, but with superior performance characteristics. Sheaths and holsters made of Boltaron are more resistant to scratches, cracks, and chemicals, and are also harder. This material withstands extreme temperature fluctuations well, making it a reliable choice for knife sheaths that ensure safe storage and quick access to the blade.
