I use it together with the Berghaus Crusader (both use the same side pockets, which you can also purchase separately). Probably the most flexible option for a patrol pack: backpack 30l add one pocket - 40 add two - you have 50 (and now you can easily pack for two days, including food and strapping your helmet to a special buckle) Let's not fool ourselves: this is a very expensive item, but in its class it has few real competitors (maybe the Eberlestock Warhammer, but that one costs four times as much and honestly, for me, it's an example of style over substance).
