Bestech Knives Slasher Folding Knife - Blue

Engineered for reliable performance, this lightweight yet robust folder is built for daily EDC (Every Day Carry) applications. Featuring a blade with a Sheepfoot profile, crafted from high-carbon D2 tool steel known for its exceptional wear resistance. Hardened to a toughness of 59-61 HRC, the blade receives a Stonewash finish for a semi-matte appearance and is ground flat for efficient cutting.

easy opening, B-Lock

Blade deployment utilizes a flipper, while the opening action is enhanced by the integration of a ceramic ball bearing within the knife’s main pivot. Secure blade lockup is delivered via a sliding B-Lock mechanism. Jimping (notch) located on the thumb rest at the spine of the blade provides improved blade control during precise cutting tasks.

Ergonomic Micarta grip, flexible steel clip

Ergonomically shaped handle scales crafted from Micarta ensure a reliable grip, even with wet or soiled hands. The non-slip texture of the scales, combined with a dedicated index finger cutout, offers enhanced grip security. A spring steel tip-up clip is included for easy and secure carry of the knife.

D2 feature
D2
D2 is a high-carbon tool steel classified as semi-stainless, characterized by high wear resistance and the ability to maintain a thin, durable edge. It achieves a hardness of 57-62 HRC, which ensures long-lasting sharpness even with intensive use. Its chemical composition is a precisely selected combination of elements: carbon (1.4-1.6%), chromium (11-13%), molybdenum (up to 0.8%), vanadium (up to 1%), manganese (up to 1%), and silicon (up to 1%). The high carbon and chromium content ensures hardness and wear resistance, while molybdenum and vanadium improve the strength and durability of the cutting edge. Although D2 steel is not completely stainless, its corrosion resistance is sufficient to meet the requirements of most conditions of use. It is widely used in the production of mid-range and high-end knives, including handmade knives and cutting tools.
B-Lock feature
B-Lock
The B-Lock mechanism is Bestech's proprietary solution, inspired by the Axis Lock design. It uses a steel strip that slides in the handle guides to lock the blade pin, and is released by pulling the strip back on both sides of the knife. Thanks to springs, the system works smoothly and can be operated with one hand by both right- and left-handed users.
Stonewash feature
Stonewash
Stonewash is a blade finishing technique that involves treating steel in a drum filled with stones, ceramic abrasives, or beads. The impact of the material creates a characteristic, irregular pattern with micro-scratches, giving the effect of a matte, slightly “aged” surface with a raw, practical appearance. The finish gives the knife an aesthetic look and masks minor scratches and marks that occur during use, keeping the blade looking like new for longer. The matte texture reduces light reflections, which is valued in tactical and outdoor knives, and the micro-scratches can further reduce friction during cutting. Due to its durability, discreet appearance, and ease of maintenance, stonewash is popular in EDC, field, and tactical knives.
Micarta feature
Micarta
Micarta is a composite material made of layers of fabric (including canvas, linen, and paper) soaked in resin and pressed under high pressure and temperature. It is characterized by high mechanical strength, resistance to impact, abrasion, and changing weather conditions, as well as dimensional stability, which makes it ideal for knife handles. The surface of Micarta provides a secure grip and can be finished smooth or left with a slight texture to improve control over the tool. The material does not conduct heat or electricity, tolerates contact with moisture well, and acquires a characteristic patina over time, emphasizing the individual style of the knife. Thanks to its combination of durability, environmental resistance, and unique appearance, Micarta is widely used in EDC, outdoor, and collector's knives.

But this blade glides so smoothly on this lock and bearings. I haven't had a knife with such smooth mechanics in a long time. Nice, universal knife, and the blue handle matches jeans perfectly.
