The device is activated when the pin is pulled out of the unit and generates a loud signal that effectively attracts attention and deters a potential attacker. The alarm operates continuously until the pin is reinserted into the socket. The Blackfire Travel Mini is also equipped with an infrared sensor enabling automatic motion detection in the monitored area, allowing effective protection of property in the immediate surroundings. The device’s housing is made of plastic. The material used keeps the overall weight low while maintaining high durability and resistance to mechanical damage or cracking. Its compact, minimalist design ensures ease of use for everyday carry.
The device can be used to secure luggage or other items by attaching the pin, fitted with a steel ring, to the item. Once the alarm is fixed in place, any sudden movement that pulls out the pin will immediately activate the alarm. The system stays on until the pin is reinserted into the slot, which deactivates it. The mechanism’s design does away with buttons, ensuring very fast activation in emergencies.
The alarm also features a passive infrared sensor (PIR) that enables automatic motion detection in the monitored area. The sensor analyses infrared radiation changes and responds to objects moving in its 30-degree field of vision. The detection range is up to about 3 metres, allowing effective monitoring of the surroundings. When motion is detected, the device sounds an alarm for about 15 seconds and then automatically returns to standby.
The device allows you to select the operating mode using a switch, so you can adjust how it works to your current needs. In active mode with motion sensor (AUTO), the alarm responds to movement after about 35 seconds of stabilization time following activation. The alarm should be placed on a stable, flat surface facing the area to be monitored. In off mode (OFF), all alarm and detection functions are disabled. The design also includes a sliding cover that allows you to quickly prepare the device for use.
The built-in LED functions as a flashlight, providing handy illumination. The light is activated by holding down the button located on the side of the housing. The flashlight only works in momentary mode, saving energy and preventing accidental battery drain.
The device is powered by three LR44 batteries. To install batteries, open the compartment on the rear of the housing and insert the batteries according to the indicated polarity. Once the housing is securely closed, the device is ready to use.
