Boker Argentina Toro HX Fixed Blade Knife

A knife with a fixed blade for everyday use and all field work, with a total length of 375 mm and Full Tang construction, i.e. with the blade's tang passing through the entire handle. The Drop-Point profile blade is made of ACX 390 stainless steel and is derived with a flat grind. The handle scales were made of antler.

ACX 390 stainless steel

The blade is made of stainless steel ACX 390, known for its good corrosion resistance and ease of sharpening while maintaining excellent working sharpness. This steel was developed with knives in mind, providing a favorable balance between wear resistance, strength, and cutting edge stability. Its fine-grained structure results in clean, aggressive cuts and good control during sharpening, making it ideal for EDC and outdoor applications.

Drop-Point blade, flat grind

The blade with a Full Tang construction and Drop-Point profile measures 235 mm in length and 5.8 mm in thickness. The blade shape offers excellent cutting efficiency while maintaining adequate strength, enabling more intensive knife use. The blade features a high flat grind and a satin finish, giving it a semi-matte effect.

Profiled handle from antler

Textured handle scales are crafted from antler. The attachment is reinforced with two pins. The steel bolster has a profiled cross guard, preventing the hand from slipping onto the cutting edge.

leather sheath

It comes with a sheath made of leather that allows you to safely carry the knife on your belt or equipments. A leather strap with snaps prevents the knife from falling out of the sheath.

ACX 390 feature
ACX 390
ACX 390 is the trade name for stainless steel produced by the Spanish steel mill Acerinox, corresponding to grade 1.4031 according to DIN standards. It is a martensitic stainless steel, which is the European equivalent of Japanese 4H13 steel, widely used in utility knives, kitchen knives, and cutting tools. The carbon content of 0.43-0.5% ensures good hardness and edge retention, while the chromium content of 12.5-14.5% is responsible for corrosion and oxidation resistance. After hardening, the steel achieves a hardness of 55-60 HRC, combining wear resistance with ease of re-sharpening, making it a popular choice for everyday knives.
Satin feature
Satin
Satin finishing is one of the most popular blade finishes, achieved by grinding the steel with fine-grained abrasives. Parallel micro-scratches remain on the surface, giving the knife a technical, matte appearance. Satin finishing has both aesthetic and practical significance - a smoothed blade is easier to clean, and the slightly reduced friction promotes smoother cutting. Depending on the direction and intensity of polishing, different effects are achieved - from a matte finish to an almost mirror-like finish. Satin is valued in both utility and collector's knives because it emphasizes the structure and quality of the steel while maintaining functionality.
