Boker Magnum Jungle Devil knife

Classic hunting knife with a fixed blade, designed for outdoor and field applications. The blade with a Clip-Point profile is made of 440A stainless steel. The handle is made from brown Pakka Wood. The set includes a brown leather sheath with a pocket and a sharpening stone.

440A stainless steel

440A stainless steel used in the knife was chosen with everyday use and field work in mind. This material achieves a hardness level of approximately 56-58 HRC, offering a good balance between corrosion resistance, mechanical strength, and ease of sharpening. 440A is characterized by high resistance to moisture and rust, good toughness, and moderate resistance to wear and dulling. Thanks to the relatively fine structure of the steel, the blade can be easily and quickly resharpened even using basic tools.

Clip-Point Blade

The knife is equipped with a solid Clip-Point blade measuring 153 mm in length and 4 mm in thickness.

Pakka Wood handle

The handle is made of Pakka Wood resin-wood laminate in brown color. Thanks to the ergonomic finger grooves, the grip fits securely in hand. The double-sided cross guard and the pommel are made of satin-finished stainless steel.

Leather sheath with a pocket

The set includes a brown leather sheath, which features a front pocket and a practical sharpening stone.

In the 19th century, it expanded its operations to the US, Canada, and Mexico, establishing recognizable subsidiaries. Today, the main factory in Solingen specializes in handcrafted collector's and utility knives, including those made of steel recovered from historical objects such as the Tripitz battleship. The brand offers four lines: Boker Manufaktur Solingen, Boker Plus, Magnum, and Arbolito. Boker products are valued by collectors, uniformed services, and chefs around the world.

440A feature
440A
440A steel is a martensitic stainless steel from the 440 series, characterized by a carbon content of 0.6-0.75%. It is a steel with relatively lower hardness compared to 440B and 440C, reaching a hardness in the range of 55-57 HRC, which ensures good sharpness and resistance to chipping. The chromium content (16-18%) guarantees good corrosion resistance, especially in humid conditions. 440A steel also contains molybdenum (up to 0.75%), which increases wear resistance and improves structural stability during hardening. Manganese and silicon additives (up to 1%) improve the hardenability and strength of the material, while low phosphorus and sulfur content reduces brittleness. 440A steel is a popular choice for mid-range knives such as kitchen knives, folding knives, and EDC knives. It is a good value steel that offers optimal cutting properties and is relatively easy to sharpen. Although it does not achieve the same high hardness as 440B or 440C, its corrosion resistance and strength make it a valued choice for knives with moderate requirements.
Pakkawood (Fissman) feature
Pakkawood (Fissman)
Pakkawood is a composite material used in knife handles, made of thin layers of veneer waterproofed with phenolic resin and pressed under high pressure. It combines the natural look of wood with resistance to moisture, deformation, and cracking. It is dimensionally stable, resistant to mechanical damage, and easy to clean, making it ideal for use in the kitchen. The veneer can be dyed to produce a wide range of colors and patterns, which enhances the aesthetics of the knives. Pakkawood is used in kitchen, hunting, and tactical models.

FANTASTIC! A piece of a full tang knife, with a wonderful blade, a slightly slippery handle which can, however, be improved with a piece of sandpaper, a neat sheath with a sharpening stone for the belt. It fits well in the hand, looks stunning, the cutting edge is a solid 2mm, while the spine tapers towards the middle of the blade only to widen again at the tip. I first saw this knife in the TOGO catalog around 2008 and fell in love. For years, I kept passing on the purchase until finally it is mine. I use it for tasks that require more weight and sure cutting. It holds sharpness quite well for a 440A. This knife is a feast for the eyes and the fulfillment of a childhood dream.
