Boker Naturensohne MK. III Fixed Blade Knife - Brown

A knife featuring a Full Tang construction with a fixed Drop-Point blade, made from high-quality 12C27 stainless steel. This model was developed in collaboration with Naturensohne—a popular duo of online content creators (Gerrit and Andy) focused on outdoor activities, bushcraft, and survival.

The design was developed with field use in mind, where control over the tool and resistance to heavy-duty use are essential. The materials used and the refined blade geometry allow for efficient performance of both precise cuts and more demanding camping tasks.

high-quality 12C27 stainless steel

The blade is made of high-quality 12C27 stainless steel, produced by the Swedish company Sandvik (now Alleima). The steel used is characterized by a fine-grained structure, which translates into good cutting performance and blade durability. The steel offers very good resistance to corrosion and abrasion.

The carbon content ensures adequate hardness, while chromium guarantees excellent resistance to corrosion and abrasion. The steel also contains manganese, silicon, phosphorus, and sulfur, which improve hardenability, strength, and structural stability, while minimizing the risk of microcracks and brittleness.

drop-point blade, satin finish

The model features a blade with a Drop-Point profile and a length of over 11 cm, which facilitates precise handling and accurate cuts. The blade has been finished with a satin finish. This process involves mechanically polishing the blade’s surface, resulting in parallel micro-scratches that give it its characteristic matte appearance.

The finish minimizes the visibility of minor scratches that occur during use, while also reducing light reflections on the blade’s surface.

ergonomically shaped wooden handle

The brown handle is made of walnut wood, which is highly resistant to wear and tear. The ergonomic profile helps you maintain control of the tool while working. The design is engineered to reduce fatigue during prolonged use and ensure a secure grip in various conditions, even when applying greater pressure.

leather sheath included

The set includes a high-quality leather sheath, which allows for safe and comfortable transport of the knife. Natural leather is wear-resistant and sufficiently rigid, which means it effectively protects the blade from mechanical damage.

The custom-fit shape of the sheath holds the knife securely in place, limiting its movement while on the move. This design ensures quick access to the tool, while also increasing safety during transport in the field.

Boker is a German knife brand with a tradition dating back to the 17th century, known for its distinctive chestnut tree logo - "Tree Brand." As early as 1830, the company was producing as many as 2,000 sabers per week, which reached European battlefields. In the 19th century, it expanded its operations to the USA, Canada, and Mexico, creating recognizable branches. Today, the main factory in Solingen specializes in handmade collector's and utility knives, also using steel recovered from historical objects, such as the battleship Tirpitz. 12C27 feature
12C27
12C27 is a high-quality Swedish stainless steel developed by Sandvik (now Alleima), similar in chemical composition and mechanical properties to 440A steel. It has a very fine-grained structure, which improves its cutting properties and durability. The carbon content (0.52%) ensures adequate hardness, while chromium (14.5%) guarantees very good corrosion and abrasion resistance. The steel also contains manganese (0.6%), silicon (0.4%), phosphorus (up to 0.025%), and sulfur (up to 0.025%), which improves hardenability, strength, and structural stability while minimizing the risk of microcracks and brittleness. After heat treatment, the steel achieves a hardness of 53-59 HRC, offering good impact resistance and ease of sharpening. The steel is widely used in EDC, kitchen, hunting, and outdoor knives. It is characterized by high corrosion resistance, good edge retention, and ease of maintenance, making it a popular choice, especially among Scandinavian manufacturers and companies such as Kershaw.
Satin feature
Satin
Satin finishing is one of the most popular blade finishes, achieved by grinding the steel with fine-grained abrasives. Parallel micro-scratches remain on the surface, giving the knife a technical, matte appearance. Satin finishing has both aesthetic and practical significance - a smoothed blade is easier to clean, and the slightly reduced friction promotes smoother cutting. Depending on the direction and intensity of polishing, different effects are achieved - from a matte finish to an almost mirror-like finish. Satin is valued in both utility and collector's knives because it emphasizes the structure and quality of the steel while maintaining functionality.
