I have a small Caracal folder mini which has served as my EDC for years, and its bigger brother is for forest outings. After unfolding and locking with the supplied pin, we practically have a knife with a fixed blade.
Folding EDC knife crafted by Boris Manashev, an instructor of the Israeli Special Forces. A key feature of this knife is the option to secure the open blade with a locking bolt.
The blade is produced from D2 tool steel, known for its outstanding abrasion resistance and also commendable corrosion resistance. The blade includes a thumb rest with a notch to prevent accidental slipping. The stainless steel handle features ergonomically shaped G10 laminate scales.
A thumbhole under the thumb serves as the opening mechanism. Once deployed, a Slip Joint lock safeguards the user, supported by a pin that moves through a dedicated channel on the handle. With the blade unsecured, the pin can be engaged to lock the folding mechanism, guaranteeing reliable performance even during demanding tasks.
Convenient daily carry is enhanced by a metal clip for attaching the knife to a belt or pocket edge. Additionally, an eyelet at the end of the handle allows for lanyard attachment.
