The knife is nice, well-made, and I carry it every day as my EDC. It is sharp, keeps its edge well, opens very smoothly, its appearance is impressive, and the micarta handle feels good in the hand.
A compact gentleman's folding knife featuring a Clip-Point style blade. The blade is crafted from Clip-Point Damast, combining layers of soft and hard carbon steel. The Cataclyst Flipjoint Damast model's blade boasts a total of 110 layers. Jimping (notching) is present on the spine of the blade at the thumb rest, enhancing blade control during precise cutting. A functional armor detail is included on the blade.
Deployment is achieved via a flipper with a thumb hole, designed as a small cutout when open. The blade operates without a traditional lock, utilizing a Flipjoint mechanism requiring pressure on the blade’s spine to close. The blade's opening action is enhanced by a ball bearing integrated into the knife’s main pivot.
Handle scales are formed from steel and contoured Micarta, a durable laminate of fabric and epoxy resin. A spring-loaded deep carry pocket clip is mounted in tip-up/r position, ensuring convenient and secure carry. A lanyard or cord hole is located at the handle’s end. The knife comes equipped with a nylon carrying pouch.
