The Forge series binoculars feature a fixed 8x magnification and a 42 mm objective lens. Employing an optical system with Roof-type prisms, the design achieves a compact and user-friendly form factor.
BaK-4 prisms, anti-reflective coatings
High-quality prisms crafted from BaK-4 optical glass are utilized in these binoculars. Enhanced with advanced PC-3 Phase Coating, they effectively eliminate losses caused by phase shifts of reflected light waves. Additionally, the inclusion of DPC (Dielectric Prism Coating) ensures exceptional color accuracy, sharp resolution, and heightened contrast.
Lenses are constructed from unique special ED glass (Extra-low Dispersion), which boasts a low light dispersion coefficient for images with superior resolution and contrast, while virtually removing chromatic aberration. All air-to-glass surfaces are thoroughly treated with multiple layers of FMC anti-reflective coatings (Fully Multi-Coated), significantly reducing unwanted reflections and minimizing light loss throughout the optical system.
IPX7-rated construction, EXO Protection coating
Enhanced by the advanced EXO Protection coating, these binoculars resist water droplet and dust accumulation and offer scratch resistance, ensuring clear viewing even in rainy conditions. The technology additionally minimizes condensation caused by breath.
Constructed to adhere to the IPX7 waterproof standard, the binoculars can withstand immersion in water for up to 30 minutes at depths reaching 1 meter.

DPC - Dielectric Prism Coating
DPC (Dielectric Prism Coating) is an advanced dielectric optical coating applied to roof prisms in Bushnell devices. The use of this multi-layer coating increases the reflectivity inside the prism to more than 99%, resulting in better light transmission, higher image brightness and more faithful color reproduction.
ED Lenses
ED (Extra-low Dispersion) lenses are optical elements made of low-dispersion glass, used in high-end optical devices. Their main function is to reduce chromatic aberration, which is the splitting of light manifested by colored borders around contrasting objects. With ED lenses, the image is clearer, sharper and has better color reproduction - especially at the edges of the field of view and when observing high-contrast objects.
EXO Barrier
EXO Barrier is the latest generation of protective coating developed by Bushnell, applied to the outer surfaces of lenses. The binoculars are highly rated on the optyczne.pl portal. A successful design and above all great optical properties – which is the most important thing for an optical device. I wanted to mention that it is heavy, but anyone who knows the topic realizes that good optical equipment has to weigh something! Because you need (inevitably heavy) glass, and a lot of it: large prisms (to avoid cutting off the edges of the image) and an optical system made up of many lenses. And that's exactly what this Bushnell binoculars is – it's great!
