The semi-automatic Byrna SD (Self Defense) pistol operates using an 8 g CO2 capsule and is designed to shoot .68 caliber projectiles. Robust design, RIS rail
The frame of the pistol is constructed from lightweight and robust polymer, decreasing overall mass and enhancing operator comfort. Outfitted with oversized mechanical sights—a prominent front and rear sight—precision and speed of target acquisition are improved. A two-sided safety lever provides reliable protection against unintentional discharge, while the rubberized, textured grip guarantees a secure hold during operation. Beneath the barrel, a RIS accessory rail enables the user to mount additional gear, such as a tactical flashlight or a laser aiming device.
Capsule emission: 8 g CO2
The Byrna SD model utilizes a CO2 capsule with an 8 g capacity, which is inserted into a dedicated chamber positioned beneath the barrel. An Allen key, integrated into the magazine, is used to unscrew the chamber cap. The rapid capsule piercing mechanism activates the CO2 capsule only when the trigger is pulled for the first time. Such a system ensures the launcher can be carried and stored loaded, remaining instantly operational.
