The Celox Medical Rapid hemostatic dressing is truly a solid product that can make a huge difference in emergencies. I had the chance to get a closer look at it and my first impression is very positive – above all, it works quickly, which is crucial in cases of bleeding. Another advantage is its ease of use, even for someone without much medical experience.
Modern field gauze dressing impregnated with the hemostatic agent Celox, incorporating chitosan. Designed for first aid and immediate control of critical hemorrhages. Suitable for use in rescue scenarios, disaster interventions, and especially in military operations. Proper training is essential to ensure correct and safe application of the dressing.
Celox Rapid differentiates itself from other hemostatic dressings by functioning regardless of the blood’s natural clotting factors. Enables hemorrhage control even in cases of low platelet levels. Maintains efficacy even in severe hypothermia, when blood temperature drops below 18.5 C.
A specialized substance—chitosan—within the dressing triggers hemostasis by rapidly initiating clot formation upon contact with blood, effectively sealing bleeding sites. Clot development occurs within approximately 2-3 minutes of application and remains stable, resisting dissolution even when the wound is cleansed with saline solution.
The field dressing delivers bactericidal action, does not generate heat, avoids causing burns, and will not adhere to the wound surface.
Sterile packaging includes a single gauze strip measuring 7.6 cm x 1.5 m.

A hemostatic dressing is one of the basic items for a shooting range kit. Celox Medical Rapid has accelerated action properties, so it's worth getting this version. The dressing takes up little space in the first aid kit. I recommend it.

It's worth having in case of heavy bleeding, it's nice that it works regardless of factors affecting clotting and in the case of hypothermia.
