Civivi Iron Tide Black Stonewashed 14C28N Aluminium Folding Knife - Forest Green

A folding knife with a Clip-Point blade profile and a length of 82.4 mm, made of corrosion-resistant 14C28N stainless steel. It features an easy-to-use Button Lock and textured handle scales made of lightweight yet durable aluminum.

The Iron Tide model is the result of a collaboration with Pete’s Pirate Life. It’s perfect for a wide range of activities, from everyday carry (EDC) to light outdoor work. The use of damage-resistant materials, a refined design, and precise craftsmanship ensure the tool’s high durability.

hardened 14C28N stainless steel with Black Stonewashed coating

The knife blade is made from high-grade 14C28N stainless steel, hardened to 57–59 HRC. The chemical composition of the material has been optimized for high hardness. Its carbon content enhances cutting performance, while chromium provides excellent rust resistance and oxidation protection.

The blade is coated with Black Stonewashed, which is highly scratch-resistant. This finish gives the steel a matte, irregular texture, reduces light reflections, and effectively conceals signs of use that appear during operation.

Clip-point blade profile, flat grind, jimping

This model features a Clip-Point blade profile with a smooth cutting edge and 82.4 mm length. The edge is finished with a flat grind. Jimping has been added to the spine, providing a secure thumb rest and improving blade control during cuts.

The well-balanced blade ensures better control of the knife. The weight is distributed evenly between the blade and handle, offering more precise cuts and reducing hand fatigue during extended use.

Aluminum handle scales

The knife is fitted with an ergonomically shaped handle made of green aluminum. This material is lightweight and highly corrosion-resistant. It offers excellent rigidity while maintaining a low weight. The textured surface of the scales guarantees a secure and safe grip when working with the knife.

flipper, thumb stud, Button Lock

The knife can be opened using a double-sided thumb stud or flipper, which allows for convenient one-handed deployment of the blade and, when open, acts as a small cross guard that prevents the hand from slipping onto the blade.

The opening mechanism has been improved with the use of a ceramic ball bearing. The model is equipped with an easy-to-use Button Lock.

spring clip

The tool is convenient to carry thanks to a spring clip (tip-up, right-carry) made from durable 6AL4V titanium. The clip design keeps the knife securely in your pocket or on your gear, preventing it from shifting during movement.

14C28N feature
14C28N
14C28N is a martensitic "nitro" stainless steel developed by the Swedish company Sandvik (now Alleima). Its chemical composition has been optimized to achieve high hardness through nitrogen (0.11%) rather than carbon, which maintains corrosion resistance and increases edge durability. The carbon content of 0.62% contributes to good cutting properties, while chromium (14%) ensures high resistance to rust and oxidation. After proper heat treatment, the steel achieves a hardness of 55-62 HRC, which provides an optimal balance between sharpness, strength, and corrosion resistance. Thanks to its fine-grained structure and ease of sharpening, 14C28N is a popular choice for the production of kitchen, EDC, hunting, and tactical knives.
Button Lock feature
Button Lock
Button Lock (also known as Plunge Lock) is a locking mechanism in folding knives based on a spring button. When fully opened, the tang enters a notch at the base of the blade and locks it in the working position; when closed, the same element acts as a detent. The design allows for smooth opening and closing with one hand and increases safety, as it does not require the user to place their fingers on the blade line. Thanks to its simplicity and reliability, the Button Lock is often used in EDC knives and collector's models.
Aluminium feature
Aluminium
Aluminum is a lightweight and durable material widely used in knife manufacturing, especially in handles and structural elements. It is characterized by low weight, high corrosion resistance, and high susceptibility to machining and anodizing, which allows for durable, aesthetic surfaces in various colors. Well-chosen aluminum alloys provide adequate rigidity while maintaining low weight, which makes knives more comfortable to carry on a daily basis. In addition, this material is weather-resistant, does not rust, and withstands intensive use well, which is why it is used in tactical knives, EDC knives, and outdoor tools.
Titanium feature
Titanium
Titanium is a lightweight, extremely durable metal widely used in knife manufacturing, especially in handles, locks, and structural elements. It is characterized by a very high strength-to-weight ratio and excellent corrosion resistance, even in contact with salt water. Titanium is slightly more difficult to machine than steel or aluminum, but it can be anodized to produce durable and attractive surfaces in a variety of colors. This material is also hypoallergenic, does not conduct heat as intensely as steel, and is not magnetized. Due to its strength, chemical resistance, and relatively low weight, titanium is used in tactical knives, EDC knives, and premium models designed for intensive use.
Blackwash feature
Blackwash
Blackwash is a finish that combines oxidation (graphite-black shade of steel) with the Stonewash technique. The blade is first coated with black and then treated in a drum with abrasive. This creates an aging effect - a dark background with lighter abrasions and micro-scratches. This gives the knife a raw, “used” look, masks scratches well, reduces light reflections, and works well in tactical knives. Thanks to its combination of practicality and aesthetics, Blackwash is popular in EDC, outdoor, and combat knives.
