A very interesting knife. Well designed and made for this price. The blade thickness does the job. I think it can be recommended for everyday use - it will cut cheese as well as whittle a stick.
Cold Steel 1911 Folding Knife 4116SS
A folding knife engineered for everyday carry (EDC), featuring a Clip-Point blade crafted from 4116SS stainless steel known for its exceptional corrosion resistance. The blade is finished with a satin polish for a smooth surface. The black handle utilizes Griv-Ex composite material with a textured, non-slip grip. Deployment is quick via a flipper mechanism, while a Liner Lock provides reliable safety during use.
The handle’s form and texture evoke the look of the iconic Colt 1911 pistol’s scales.
4116SS Stainless steel
Forged from rugged 4116SS stainless steel, the blade offers reliable corrosion resistance, straightforward sharpening, and consistent edge durability. Following heat treatment, it attains a hardness rating of 55-57 HRC.
Clip-point blade with satin finish
Equipped with a Clip-Point blade, this knife offers a length of 76.2 mm and a thickness of 3.3 mm. A smooth cutting edge with a hollow grind enhances its slicing performance. Precision engineering of the blade shape ensures outstanding cutting capabilities and high durability under stress, making it ideal for demanding knife tasks. Finished using the satin method, the blade shows a semi-matte, consistent texture, resulting in a discreet look as well as improved concealment and resistance to everyday scratches during operation.
Non-slip handle made of Griv-Ex composite
Handle scales and backspacer are crafted from robust Griv-Ex composite, offering a secure, dependable grip due to a textured, non-slip surface that performs reliably even when hands are wet or dirty. The handle features a springy clip, enabling attachment to a belt or the edge of a pocket for practical everyday transport. Designed for versatility, the clip is reversible for both right- and left-handed carry.
Double lock, flipper
Deployment of the blade is accomplished via a flipper, which, once engaged, acts as a compact cross guard to shield fingers from slipping onto the edge. In the open state, the blade’s spine provides a dedicated thumb support, offering increased control and precision during use. Serrations on the underside of the handle ensure secure finger placement, reinforcing grip stability and minimizing the chance of accidental hand slippage. Blade lockup is achieved with a dual mechanism that combines a Liner Lock with a sliding lock, delivering enhanced safety management during operation.

Nice, very well-fitted knife for "urban" use – cardboard, tapes, insulation, or food – it cuts great. Very comfortable flipper, less comfortable but still functional thumb stud. Doesn't rust with minimal care (wiping after use, even on trousers, and oiling from time to time). However, it is not suited for survival situations, because the liner lock and ball bearings are very susceptible to dirt and sand. Even lint and dust from your pocket can block them, causing the knife not to open fully and the blade not to lock in place, so it moves freely. This means the knife can't be used until thoroughly cleaned and oiled. Using it in tougher conditions (dirt, mud, sand) is basically out of the question, at least for my piece.

A very pleasant, compact folder with a vintage look. The GrivEx scales are just as solid as, for example, in the Voyager. Their fine texturing provides a secure grip, but also has one drawback – dust or mud easily gets pressed into them, resulting in the need for rather tedious cleaning with a brush, or you have to accept a less aesthetic appearance. The blade is solid, although I did not find the promised hollow grind on it. The spine works well with a firestarter. The liner lock stiffly secures the blade, but due to its small thickness and locking just at the edge, it doesn't really inspire confidence (maybe unjustly, since it actually works fine). Luckily, for heavier tasks (if you even need to do such with this small knife), you can additionally lock it with a slider. The thumb stud is practically useless; it's too low to be used comfortably for that purpose. It's much easier and more convenient to open it with the flipper. The stud can be unscrewed, but with a hole left in its place, the knife looks worse. The clip is springy and even quite stiff and does its job well. Importantly, under the clip there is no texturing, so it doesn't tear up the edge of your pocket during use. Overall – very nice EDC knife, does its job.

Very nice knife from Cold Steel. Everything fits well, nothing sticks, everything moves smoothly. Opens with a flipper, the thumb stud is not for opening, you can use it just to finish the open action. Additional lock, but it’s rather for heavier work.

Works well as a knife for typical, light use. Not too big and not too small, I can open it freely with my male hand; yes, using the flipper is more convenient, but it can also be opened with the thumb stud. Regarding the grind type from the description, it's a high flat grind, not a hollow one :)

Solid, not large folder with a comfortable handle. The only minus is the thumb stud, which is useless.

Very nice knife. Fits well in the hand. The blade seems to be solid. I recommend it.

A small folder that feels sturdy – as expected from CS. The blade is quite wide, so you can confidently handle it when cutting and trimming in smaller tasks. The steel holds its edge fairly well. Cons: the liner lock is just over 1mm thick... If not for the supporting external lock slider, I would have doubts about its durability... The thumb stud is just decorative, you can't use it to deploy the blade. Overall, an interesting, petite knife, worth its price.

A light, small, and very well-made EDC. Works like the Wes Crawford. The flipper is not on bearings but works smoothly and opens without issue.

The knife represents a high level of material quality, comfortable ergonomics, very strong clip, low weight. A must-have in every EDC. I recommend it.
