Cold Steel Leatherneck Bowie Fixed Blade Knife D2

Modeled after the iconic US Marines combat knife, originally manufactured by companies such as Ka-Bar. Features a fixed blade with Full Tang construction, making it ideal for tactical and survival scenarios. The Bowie-style blade is crafted from D2 tool steel and finished with a black powder coating. Bowie profile blade, Black Powder coating

Featuring a Bowie style, the blade measures 267 mm in length and 5 mm in thickness. A flat partial grind and smooth cutting edge are present, complemented by a fuller along the spine. The fuller minimizes overall weight while preserving the knife's structural integrity and enhances stiffness across the blade. The profile delivers outstanding cutting precision and dependable performance in survival scenarios. A durable Black Powder coating shields the blade from scratches, provides corrosion resistance, and prevents unwanted glare.

Full Tang construction, ergonomic Kray-Ex grip

Featuring a Full Tang design, the knife’s steel tang extends the full length of the handle, delivering maximum strength and reliability. A grip crafted from the synthetic polymer Kray-Ex is secured to the tang. The handle’s ergonomic profile and non-slip surface ensure superior control, even with wet or soiled hands. A steel cross guard shields the hand from sliding onto the blade, while a steel pommel positioned at the base of the handle can be utilized as an additional field tool.

Secure-Ex system sheath

The knife comes equipped with a sheath constructed in the Secure-Ex system, utilizing materials that are both lightweight and exceptionally resilient against harsh weather conditions. Secure retention is ensured by the fitted opening paired with a snap-fastened loop, which reliably prevents unintended dislodging of the knife. Its chemical composition is a precisely selected combination of elements: carbon (1.4-1.6%), chromium (11-13%), molybdenum (up to 0.8%), vanadium (up to 1%), manganese (up to 1%), and silicon (up to 1%). The high carbon and chromium content ensures hardness and wear resistance, while molybdenum and vanadium improve the strength and durability of the cutting edge. Although D2 steel is not completely stainless, its corrosion resistance is sufficient to meet the requirements of most conditions of use. It is widely used in the production of mid-range and high-end knives, including handmade knives and cutting tools.

    The knife is simply amazing. First impression – it is large and heavy. It is great for chopping and batoning. However, this knife is definitely not intended for small or precise camp tasks because you can really feel its nearly 0.5 kg weight after a short while of use. This knife is a workhorse, excellently suited for tougher jobs. I definitely recommend it if you like big knives!

    A piece of beautiful beast. In terms of usability, with this size it's hard to expect a lot of practicality beyond chopping or batoning, but the fun of holding it in your hand is priceless. I recommend it.
