Very nice, fits well in the hand. It is quite a large, wide knife and you have to remember that, but it fits in your pocket. The lock and build are rock solid, I have the impression that when unfolded it feels like a fixed-blade knife.
Cold Steel Talwar XL S35VN Serrated Folding Knife
Talwar XL series folding knife features a robust, wide blade with a Straight Back profile and a flat grind that delivers excellent cutting performance. The serrated blade boasts a satin finish for enhanced durability and appearance. Crafted from S35VN stainless steel, the blade offers outstanding resistance to both wear and corrosion. A black handle constructed from G10 laminate with an anti-slip texture ensures a secure grip. Deployment is swift thanks to the thumb disk, while the Tri-Ad Lock mechanism guarantees reliable user safety.
S35VN stainless steel
Forged from CPM S35VN powder steel, the blade delivers exceptional corrosion resistance and outstanding edge retention. Precision heat treatment pushes the hardness to 58–61 HRC, ensuring enduring sharpness and reliable performance for daily tasks.
Straight Back profile blade with satin finish
Featuring a Straight Back profile and a serrated cutting edge, the blade measures 140 mm in length and 4 mm in thickness. Designed with a straight, subtly sloping spine, this shape supports the knife’s broad range of uses. Employing a flat grind, the blade ensures excellent cutting performance. Enhanced with a satin finish, the blade boasts a semi-matte appearance and increased resistance to everyday scratches.
Profiled G10 laminate handle, jimping, springy clip
The handle features a rugged G10 laminate construction, engineered from multiple layers of fiberglass impregnated with epoxy resin. Offering outstanding resistance to damage and moisture, it remains lightweight for easy maneuverability. Ergonomically sculpted finger grooves provide a secure grip, maintaining control even in wet or dirty conditions. Additional jimping along the spine ensures solid thumb support and enhanced precision during detailed cutting tasks.
A robust springy clip offers versatile carry options, securing the knife to a pocket or belt with ease. Thanks to its reversible setup, both right- and left-handed users can operate the knife comfortably. A dedicated hole at the end of the handle allows for easy lanyard attachment.
Tri-Ad Lock, double-sided thumb disk
The Tri-Ad Lock ensures user safety and is recognized as one of the toughest and most dependable locking mechanisms found in folding knives. Featuring a stop pin in its design, load from the blade is effectively transferred and evenly distributed across the handle, which minimizes stress on the locking parts. The system intuitively adapts as the knife is used, guaranteeing consistent performance and longevity. A thumb disk on the blade offers ambidextrous operation for effortless opening and enables rapid deployment by catching on the pocket’s edge.

The knife is okay, but at this price the finish is unsatisfactory, the grind at the tip of the blade is clearly crooked. I hope it will almost completely improve after a few sharpenings.
-
An uncompromising machete, a clip point on steroids. The blade is similar in size to the Voyager XL Vaquero/Clip point, but in the Talwar the tip is much thicker, which gives you greater confidence that you won't break it accidentally by hitting some harder material. Compared to the Voyager models—longer handle, resulting in a greater cutting reach if you grip the knife at the very end of the scales. The TriAdLock lock rubbed slightly where it contacts the blade (remnants from the factory machining of the main lock element). This does not have a significant impact on the ease of opening/closing the knife, but for perfectionists—it requires a light sanding with high-grit sandpaper.

Great ergonomics, steel too, surprisingly light for its size.
