Cold Steel Urban Edge Double Serrated AUS-8A Fixed Blade Knife

Push-dagger style knife with a "T" shaped grip, featuring a handle oriented perpendicular to the blade, crafted for tactical use and personal protection. Equipped with a serrated edge and a dagger-style blade, forged from Japanese AUS-8A stainless steel and finished using a satin polish technique that creates a semi-matte appearance. The handle, constructed from black Kray-Ex material, ensures a firm and reliable grasp. Included in the package is a Secure-Ex sheath system along with a chain, offering versatile carry options such as wearing around the neck or attaching to a belt.

Japanese AUS-8A steel

Constructed from Japanese AUS-8A steel, the blade offers long-lasting sharpness and allows for quick and easy resharpening. Following the heat treatment process, a hardness of 58-60 HRC is achieved, ensuring excellent durability and reliable cutting performance.

symmetrical dagger blade, satin finish

Serrated stiletto-style blade measuring 64 mm in length and 2.5 mm in thickness features a symmetrical profile and is sharpened on both edges. Finished with a satin polish technique, the blade boasts a semi-matte finish that reduces glare and improves resistance to small abrasions.

Kray-Ex handle scales

The knife features a handle crafted from Kray-Ex material with deep texturing, ensuring a firm and reliable hold. Known for its exceptional shock resistance, Kray-Ex efficiently absorbs impacts, minimizing vibrations during strikes or thrusts. The ergonomic design of the handle prevents hand slippage, delivering precise knife control in wet conditions or when operated with gloves.

Secure-Ex system sheath, neck chain

The included sheath, part of the Secure-Ex system, is crafted from a lightweight, robust, and weather-resistant material. Designed to hold the knife securely, the sheath effectively prevents unintentional drops. For added convenience and comfort during everyday carry, the knife can also be worn around the neck using the supplied ball chain.

Secure-Ex feature
Secure-Ex
Secure-Ex is a system developed by Cold Steel, designed for the safe storage and convenient carrying of knives and tools. Sheaths made with this technology are lightweight, durable, and weather-resistant, making them suitable even for intensive use. They hold the knife securely in the sheath while allowing for quick and smooth draw. The system has a modular design - the sheaths can be supplemented with various fasteners, such as buckles, clips (e.g., C-Clip) or ball chains. This allows the knife to be worn on a belt, around the neck, or in other configurations, according to the user's preferences.
Kray-Ex feature
Kray-Ex
Kray-Ex is a synthetic polymer with a rubber-like structure used by Cold Steel to manufacture knife handles. It is characterized by high adhesion and anti-slip properties, ensuring a secure grip even in high humidity, low temperatures, and with dirty hands. The material is flexible and absorbs shocks well, which increases comfort of use. Kray-Ex is also resistant to cracking, abrasion, chemicals, and adverse weather conditions, making handles made of this material durable and virtually maintenance-free. Cold Steel uses it in tactical, survival, and utility knives.
AUS-8A feature
AUS-8A
AUS-8A is a Japanese stainless steel, equivalent to 440B steel, characterized by a good balance between corrosion resistance, ease of sharpening, and edge retention. The carbon content (0.7-0.75%) affects the hardness of the steel, while chromium (13-14.5%) provides very good corrosion and abrasion resistance. Vanadium additives (up to 0.26%) improve the homogeneity of the steel's crystal structure and increase the blade's resistance to abrasion. The steel also contains molybdenum (0.1-0.3%), manganese (0.5%), silicon (0.4-1%), and nickel (0.49%). After proper heat treatment, AUS-8 steel achieves a hardness of 58-60 HRC, making it a solid material with good cutting properties and durability. The steel is widely used in mid-range knives, mainly produced in Japan and Taiwan, such as the popular Ontario RAT 1.
Satin feature
Satin
Satin finishing is one of the most popular blade finishes, achieved by grinding the steel with fine-grained abrasives. Parallel micro-scratches remain on the surface, giving the knife a technical, matte appearance. Satin finishing has both aesthetic and practical significance - a smoothed blade is easier to clean, and the slightly reduced friction promotes smoother cutting. Depending on the direction and intensity of polishing, different effects are achieved - from a matte finish to an almost mirror-like finish. Satin is valued in both utility and collector's knives because it emphasizes the structure and quality of the steel while maintaining functionality.

A small secret knife you can always carry with you. The workmanship is very good, but that's CS after all. I recommend the product and, of course, the store.

Purchased for discreet carrying when the Safe Maker and Safe Maker 2 are already visible. Its main advantages are that it is small and handy.

Cold Steel Urban Edge is exactly what I needed for some possible crisis situation. Small but wild. The workmanship is flawless. I recommend shopping at Militaria pl.

A very handy push dagger made of decent materials.

A very good single-edged dagger, the steel is flawless. It is quite sharp so far; I haven't needed to sharpen it. The handle sits securely and safely in hand. Unfortunately, due to my mistake, I thought it had the option to be attached to a belt, but it turned out that a different, longer, and a bit more expensive model has that option. But that's my fault. The set includes a chain for neck carry, and there's no worry here since the sheath is safe and there's no way the dagger could come out unintentionally. Before buying, I suggest...

The knife is very sharp but easy to blunt, but it fits very well in hand (I use gloves size S), so a bigger model would be better for larger hands.

+very sharp knife -too small, hard to hold comfortably and deliver a thrust -the tip broke off after a light push into plywood =I would rather recommend buying a bigger model of this knife.
