I chose the Hikebound II jacket for rainy days and trips because I was looking for something practical and affordable that I could safely put in my backpack. In the rain, it performs very well: water rolls right off it, and you can walk comfortably even in a heavy downpour or drizzle. The jacket has an appropriate weight, it's not heavy, and the Greenscape/Mossy Green colors look attractive in person and are not too intense. I did notice one drawback: when I pick up the pace or go uphill, it can get stuffy inside. That's not a big issue though, as that's just how these types of jackets are—they protect well from rain but are a bit less effective with ventilation. You also have to adjust the hood carefully, because it can puff up a bit in the wind. All in all, as a practical rain jacket for the season, it worked out excellently for me. It doesn't really provide warmth—the main advantages are protection from rain and wearing comfort, plus the ability to throw it in your backpack without worrying.
