Delta Optical Forest Gen3 Binoculars 8x42

Binoculars with a 42 mm objective lens diameter and fixed 8x magnification, belonging to the third generation of binoculars in the Forest series. The binoculars use a BaK4 roof prism system with phase correction, ED glass lenses and multi-coated FBMC anti-reflective coatings. The magnesium-aluminum alloy construction, nitrogen filling and wide field of view of 142 m at 1000 m make this model suitable for nature observation, tourism and use in variable lighting conditions.

ergonomic body with rubber coating, waterproof construction

The binocular body is made of magnesium-aluminum alloy and is based on a compact Roof design, which allows it to maintain a slim profile. The interpupillary distance adjustment range is 59-73 mm. The housing is covered with a soft anti-slip rubber coating with a non-slip texture, which serves both a protective and shock-absorbing function. The binoculars are equipped with a convenient central focus adjustment mechanism that allows quick switching from observing nearby objects to those at a long distance.

Twist-up eyecups increase comfort during use and help maintain the correct eye position relative to the eyepiece. Diopter adjustment in the right eyepiece allows the image to be precisely matched to the observer's individual needs. The binoculars are equipped with a standard 1/4" tripod thread, allowing mounting on a tripod using a suitable binocular adapter. The binoculars are waterproof to IPX7 standard and are equipped with nitrogen filling to protect against fogging, which allows observation even in adverse weather conditions.

BaK-4 prisms, ED lenses, FBMC coating

The objective lenses are made of ED glass. This material is used to reduce chromatic aberration, that is, the colored fringes visible on high-contrast edges. The result is a clearer image and more faithful color reproduction of the observed objects.

The model uses an optical system based on BaK-4 prisms made of barium crown glass. They are characterized by a high refractive index, which makes it possible to obtain a sharp, bright and well-contrasted image with minimal chromatic aberration. Thanks to good light transmission, these prisms perform particularly well in low-light conditions. The lenses and eyepieces are coated with multi-coated FBMC anti-reflective coatings, which limit light loss and reduce unwanted glare. As a result, the image is characterized by high contrast, natural color reproduction and better clarity.

Thanks to the 5.2 mm exit pupil, the binoculars are also suitable for observation at dusk or in limited lighting conditions. The model features a wide field of view (142m/1000m) that allows observation of a larger area without the need to move the binoculars frequently, which makes it easier to locate and track moving objects.

case included

The set includes a case made of durable synthetic material with increased resistance to abrasion and moisture, which provides effective protection for the binoculars during transport and storage. In addition, the binoculars are equipped with an adjustable neck strap for convenient and secure carrying of the equipment during field observation.

Militaria.pl is a premium dealer of Delta Optical.

Delta Optical is a Polish company founded in 1989 by optics enthusiasts. Today, the brand is one of the leading manufacturers of binoculars, riflescopes, and telescopes in Europe, and its equipment is used by travelers, hunters, astronomers, and mountain rescuers from TOPR. Delta Optical works with respected partners such as Pulsar, Pentax, and William Optics, offering a wide range of products valued by both professionals and enthusiasts of nature or sky observation. The company continuously develops its solutions, introducing innovations that improve comfort and precision of use. Delta Optical telescopes have been used many times during public astronomy shows in Poland, and thanks to the brand's support, thousands of people were able to see Saturn's rings or the surface of the Moon for the first time.

BaK-4 feature
BaK-4
BaK-4 are high-end prisms made of Barium Crown glass, containing barium oxide. They are used in advanced optics such as binoculars, telescopes and finders, where image quality is crucial. BaK-4 glass is characterized by a high refractive index, resulting in a sharp, bright and well-contrasted image with minimal chromatic aberration. With excellent light transmission, these prisms perform particularly well in low-light conditions.
ED Lenses feature
ED Lenses
ED (Extra-low Dispersion) lenses are optical elements made of low-dispersion glass, used in high-end optical devices. Their main function is to reduce chromatic aberration, which is the splitting of light manifested by colored borders around contrasting objects. With ED lenses, the image is clearer, sharper and has better color reproduction - especially at the edges of the field of view and when observing high-contrast objects.
