The HP12R-T headlamp utilizes a 4000 mAh 18650 battery, which comes included in the package. Charging is accomplished through an integrated USB-C port, allowing the battery to remain inside the lamp during the process. Battery status is displayed by LEDs positioned on the top switch. Alternatively, the lamp may be powered by two CR123 batteries.

The advanced electronic system manages power usage, delivering consistent brightness in the selected mode until the battery is fully depleted. The digital current regulator safeguards against LED overheating in the highest mode. Additional features include reverse polarity protection. The lockout function safeguards against unintentional activation during transport.
