Temperatures and conditions of use
The temperature ratings of the Nordkapp sleeping bag specified in accordance with EN 13537:
- T-comfort: 8 deg C - the lowest temperature at which a woman can comfortably sleep through the night,
- T-limit: 4 deg C - the minimum temperature at which a man can sleep through the night without discomfort,
- T-extreme: -1 deg C - the lowest temperature at which survival in the sleeping bag is possible. This is not a value recommended for standard use.
20D nylon with Water Repellent coating
Constructed with both inner and outer layers of lightweight 20D nylon, finished with a water-repellent WR (Water Repellent) coating. The fabric’s waterproof properties help prevent moisture intrusion. The interior features a small pocket for convenient storage of accessories, along with loops designed to secure an extra insulating liner.
Duck down filling, H-shaped construction
Superior thermal insulation and optimal air circulation are ensured by filling with Polish duck down in a 91/9 ratio. The down, boasting a fill power of 700 cuin, offers a high compression rate, enabling the sleeping bag to pack down to a compact size. Utilization of the H-shaped chamber structure effectively prevents the down from shifting or clumping. An additional layer of down has been integrated into the footbox, which is drawstring-adjustable, significantly enhancing the sleeping bag’s overall thermal efficiency and delivering extra warmth to the feet.
Right-side zipper, Anti-Bite system
A two-way zipper positioned on the right side enables the sleeping bag to open fully from both the top and bottom, facilitating rapid entry and exit. The zipper is fitted with a fluorescent puller, allowing for effortless use in low-light conditions. Featuring an Anti-Bite system, the fabric is safeguarded against being caught in the zipper. An internal thermal strip provides additional protection for the zipper.
Integrated hood with cold protection, DUO drawstring
The integrated 3D hood enhances thermal insulation by enveloping the head, effectively reducing heat loss in cold conditions. Its design also offers superior defense against wind and moisture. The Duo drawstring merges the functionality of both elastic and tape elements. The elastic section around the neck enables quick hand extraction without readjustment, while the rear tape allows for rapid loosening at a chosen point, making it especially advantageous for use during night operations.
