Operation of PCP air rifles requires a power source with compressed air:

The advantages of PCP (Precharged Pneumatic) air rifles over spring-powered models are clear: there is no recoil from piston motion as seen in spring mechanisms—the movement of internal parts weighing less than 10 g is negligible to the shooter and to a rifle weighing more than 3 kg. As a result, PCP air rifles not only enable the use of more sensitive optics but also provide for greater scope magnification; the rifle may rest securely in the shooter’s hands during firing without risk of disruptive movement.
A steel barrel equipped with an external 1/2'' UNF thread makes it possible to add a silencer, compensator, or separator. The ergonomic stock, complete with a Monte Carlo-style cheek rest, supports quick sight alignment and comfortable aiming. Designed for ambidextrous use, the synthetic stock has a height-adjustable rubber butt pad for enhanced stability and personalized fit. Cocking is performed with a side-mounted lever.
The AT44S-10 Long model features fiber optic (TruGlo) adjustable open sights. The receiver includes a dual mounting rail with 11 mm and 22 mm (Weaver) standards and a stopper for mounting optics. Beneath the handguard is an additional rail for bipod attachment. The fully adjustable Quattro Trigger provides a 2-stage metal trigger mechanism for customizing trigger weight and travel. Automatic safety at the barrel’s end offers protection against unintentional firing.
A 230 cc air reservoir allows for up to 60 consistent-power shots per fill. Incorporated Anti-Knock System safeguards compressed air in case of impact. In addition, a mechanism prevents the loading of multiple pellets at once.
