Helikon-Tex Boonie Hat Mk2 Hat IRR - wz.93 Pantera PL Woodland
Light military hat of the boonie hat type in wz.93 Pantera PL Woodland camouflage, designed for tactical operations, patrols, and outdoor activities on warm and hot days. It is made of flexible, quick-drying PolyCotton Stretch Rip-Stop fabric with a grammage of 220 g/m2 and NIR/IRR technology that reduces silhouette contrast in the near infrared range. The model is equipped with a top velcro panel for identification markers, ventilation openings with mesh, and a tape with loops for attaching additional natural camouflage.
Polycotton stretch rip-stop, NIR/IRR technology
The hat is based on a classic design with a wide brim that protects the face and neck from sunlight and light rain, with the number of fabric layers reduced to lower the total weight to just 85 g. It is made of PolyCotton Stretch Rip-Stop fabric with a grammage of 220 g/m2 and a composition of 50% polyester, 48% cotton, and 2% elastane, which ensures high breathability, abrasion resistance, and two-way stretch. The applied Rip-Stop weave protects the fabric structure against tearing in dense terrain, while NIR/IRR technology (Near Infrared / Infrared Reflective) makes the fabric absorb and reflect radiation to a degree similar to a forest environment, reducing visibility under night vision.
Ventilation, velcro panels and markings
The hat construction features ventilation openings protected by fine mesh, which improve air circulation and prevent the head from overheating during exertion in high temperatures. At the very top there is a velcro panel intended for quick attachment of lightsticks or IR identification markers (IFF). Around the hat runs an integrated camouflage tape forming functional loops, made in camouflage matching the rest of the headwear, which prevents the formation of distinct, revealing lines on the silhouette.
contrasting interior, mounting loop, loops
The inside of the hat is finished with fabric in a contrasting colour, which allows it to be immediately turned inside out to signal position or call for help in emergency situations. A tape is sewn above the brim, allowing handy small items to be attached to the hat (for example insect repellent, camouflage elements) or small pieces of equipment to be securely fastened, such as a flashlight with a clip. Additionally, the model is fitted with a mounting loop used to strap the hat directly to the Raid combat shirt during marching.

wz.93 Pantera PL Woodland camouflage
The wz.93 Pantera PL Woodland camouflage pattern is the camouflage currently used by the Polish Armed Forces - the first camouflage designed and introduced into widespread use in the Third Polish Republic. The 1993 pattern offers a combination of mimetic and disruptive properties through the use of irregular patches of different sizes. The colour scheme based on green, brown, and black has been adapted to the conditions of Polish forests, making “Pantera” a suitable choice for operations in domestic terrain. Uniforms in this camouflage also constitute the basic equipment of students of Military Uniformed Classes.

Materials with IRR (Infrared Reflective) properties are designed to maximize the absorption and minimize the mission of infrared radiation, which is important for camouflage and avoiding detection by observation devices such as night vision devices.
Rip-Stop weave protects the fabric from abrasions and tears. It is characterized by additional threads woven in at regular intervals, forming a mesh-like pattern. It provides high strength to the fabric, increases resistance to mechanical damage, especially tears.
