This is definitely my best backpack – the main compartment is very spacious, and the side pockets turned out to be larger than I expected. The molle/pals system also extends to the hip belt and the entire main section, and the compression straps allow you to attach additional gear such as a tent, fishing rod, or sleeping mat. There are also holders on the bottom that allow you to attach more items outside. Additional compartments behind the smaller external pockets are perfect for an axe, knife, or other accessories. All compression and adjustment straps are equipped with elastic bands so that unnecessary straps don’t get caught on branches. The backpack effectively protects even against heavy rain. Inside, a plastic plate was used instead of an aluminum frame – it’s a lightweight solution, and the ventilated back significantly reduces sweating. For this price, you definitely won't be disappointed.
The Matilda backpack from the Bushcraft Line series is the outcome of a collaboration between Helikon-Tex and SurvivalTech, crafted with survival experts and extended field expeditions in mind. Providing a 50-liter capacity, the pack offers efficient gear carriage for multi-day adventures in demanding conditions. Durable build and an organized storage system turn the Matilda into a dependable companion for every journey.
Only trusted, rugged fabrics like 500D Cordura and 210D nylon are used, offering superior resistance to abrasions and adverse weather. The main compartment holds 39 liters and pairs with external pockets, all secured by flaps boasting adjustable collars with integrated drawstrings and stoppers. This design effectively safeguards your gear from dirt, dust, and moisture, while minimizing risk of accidental loss.
Maximum utility drives the design, featuring a MOLLE/PALS webbing system on the hip belt, sides, front, and inside the main compartment for modular attachments. Users can easily add more pouches and gear, customizing the layout as needed. Side straps simplify carrying a sleeping mat or tent, while four additional straps at the bottom allow quick fastening of a sleeping bag or jacket with either straps or paracord.
Transport comfort stems from the ergonomic carrying system, which utilizes a back panel reinforced with a plastic sheet and aluminum support frame. Padded inserts covered with ventilated mesh encourage airflow and boost wearing comfort on lengthy treks. Anatomically-shaped wide shoulder straps and an adjustable, detachable hip belt reduce burden on the back and evenly spread load across the body, a key feature for extended marches.
Numerous practical details enhance the Matilda’s versatility. Within the primary compartment, MOLLE webbing and a hanging strap for a hydration reservoir are provided, with hydration tube ports on both sides. The main flap features secure closure with robust buckles, complemented by elastic piping and a zip-secured pocket, which conceals an internal mesh divider with a zipper. Three front pockets, metal drainage ports at the base, and special passthroughs for items like an axe or knife add further utility to the design.
Premium components such as YKK zippers and ergonomic design ensure the Matilda meets the expectations of demanding users. Features like side compression straps, a carrying handle, a 9 x 5 cm velcro patch panel, and fully adjustable shoulder straps with sternum and quick-release buckles, guarantee suitability for both extended expeditions and daily use in the wild.

I already have a few backpacks but I was tempted to buy this one as well. I have several Helikon products and I am very satisfied with the quality. The backpack did not disappoint me either. It's a bit 'sack-like' – when empty it doesn't look impressive ;) but it's very spacious and has plenty of extra places to attach gear or pouches. The shoulder straps are wide and comfortable. The back is well-stiffened. If you catch it on sale, grab it without hesitation.

This is the best backpack I've ever had for training, marches, or the border. Durable construction with no loose threads, it doesn't let rain through. Loaded to the brim and weighing it down, yet the material shows no sign of tearing, and the plastic parts withstand being stepped on, crushed, and other accidental impacts. I recommend it despite its lower capacity compared to typical mountain backpacks—I choose it whenever I can instead of a military backpack.
-
Great backpack, I use it for outdoor trips to various abandoned places where it is often exposed to abrasions, etc. So far it looks like new, I recommend it.
-
Great backpack, I didn't expect such quality. Wide, sturdy straps. The color is a bit lighter than in the photo. Very spacious. I can confidently recommend this backpack.
-
I don't regret buying it. After redeeming KSK points I paid 290 PLN, but even at its regular price you probably won’t find anything better. Big pluses for the partial use of Cordura, roominess, possibility to attach extra pockets, stiffened back, hip belt, and chest strap. I recommend it.
-
A well-made backpack, spacious and functional. I've had five outings with it, carrying 15-24 kg, and it performs excellently, just as another user mentioned, it works great in the forest and doesn't soak up moisture from the surroundings. It survived airline luggage transport without damage.

Very comfortable, spacious, price is a bit high but it’s worth spending a little more for something this good.
-
The best backpack in the world, it fits everything you need for multi-day trips. Don’t look at the price, get it, you won’t regret it. Helikon is the best company.
-
Durable, you can adjust it to your body shape, the straps and shoulder straps do not dig in.

Great backpack for trips. Thoughtful frame design makes it easy to pack for a forest trip of two to three days. Spacious outside pockets easily fit a rolled-up Gore-Tex jacket, food rations, and water canteens. The main compartment is vast and, of course when things are compressed, will fit even the largest sleeping bags. With the use of the top flap, packing possibilities increase. The backpack has endured forests, mountains, kayaking, and lakes, and survived it all without damage.

Backpack after the first trips to the forest. So far, everything is ok. Very nice design, spacious main compartment, pockets are also very roomy, you can organize your gear nicely. Perfect for a 2–3-day trip outdoors. This is the kind of backpack I was looking for.

Caught on sale. First trip – very positive. Backpack should last for years.

I had my eye on this backpack for a long time. I've been using it for almost two years and I have no major complaints about it. It fits a tarp, hammock, sleeping bag, stove, hatchet, water, and you'll still have some room left. Currently, I'm ordering additional pockets like the Scout or E&E pouch to have quick access to my gear without 'diving' inside. Comfortable hip belt.
-
Great especially for those who like to have everything at hand. Adjustable side straps make a three-person tent feel like it's part of the backpack. The belt is super comfortable and allows for a lot of personal modifications thanks to the molle. The main compartment can hold much more than I thought, it seems to me that the whole backpack has much more space than 35l. After attaching a dump pouch and an E&E pouch, the packing possibilities increase even more. I recommend it to those who are not focused on ultra-light gear.
