A compact, lightweight, yet very spacious first aid kit. It easily fits a CAT tourniquet, an Israeli bandage, scissors, and basic medications. The prominent reflective medical cross on the front makes it easy to quickly locate in the dark or at the bottom of a backpack. Another brilliant and reliable product from Helikon-Tex, I recommend it.

500D Cordura, DWR coating and IRR properties
The first-aid kit is made of 100% 500D Cordura with a 225 g/m2 grammage. The material is highly resistant to abrasion and mechanical damage, so it handles frequent packing, transport, and field use well. The outer surface is coated with a DWR coating, which reduces moisture absorption and makes cleaning easier. The applied IRR (Infrared Reflective) properties reduce infrared reflection, making the equipment less contrastive during observation with devices operating in the near-infrared range. The construction uses components from Woojin, adapted for intensive use.
detachable insert and equipment organization
Access to the main compartment is provided by a YKK zipper, which allows the first-aid kit to be opened wide and gives quick access to the stored elements. Inside there is a detachable medical insert made of nylon, which helps organize dressings and equipment intended for individual use. The insert can be removed from the main compartment, making access to the entire contents easier. Inside, there is a Velcro panel that stabilizes the insert and a mesh pocket with a drawstring, which helps sort smaller accessories and secures them against falling out. On the outer side of the first-aid kit there are 2 elastic tape loops and 2 paracord loops, allowing additional small items to be organized and kept in a fixed position. There is also a Velcro panel with a reflective medical marking, making quick identification of the first-aid kit easier. The dimensions of the first-aid kit are 10,5 x 6,5 x 18,5 cm.
MOLLE/PALS system
The first-aid kit is compatible with the MOLLE/PALS system, so it can be attached to a vest, belt, or another piece of accouterment equipped with suitable mounting straps. The construction allows the first-aid kit to be carried vertically or horizontally, making it possible to match the attachment method to the equipment configuration and available space. The first-aid kit also comes with an adjustable strap, which allows it to be worn separately as a waist bag. This solution makes it possible to use the first-aid kit independently of a vest or another piece of accouterment.

The velcro panel is an area with sewn-on Velcro tape that allows easy attachment of various additional items, such as patches or pockets.
Cordura is a material woven from durable nylon fibers, developed by DuPont. The structure of the material provides lightness and abrasion resistance, as well as weather resistance. Due to its properties, Cordura is widely used in tactical equipment.
Materials with IRR (Infrared Reflective) properties are designed to maximize the absorption and minimize the mission of infrared radiation, which is important for camouflage and avoiding detection by observation devices such as night vision devices.
DWR (Durable Water Repellency) is a durable waterproofing treatment that increases the surface tension of water and creates a hydrophobic coating on materials. It protects the material from rapid soaking, improves drying, provides stain resistance and increases breathability.
YKK zippers are high-quality zippers commonly used in clothing and accessories, manufactured by the Japanese YKK Corporation - one of the world's largest zipper manufacturers.
MOLLE (Modular Lightweight Load-carrying Equipment) is a system for attachment of tactical equipment, used for example in backpacks or tactical vests. It provides the possibility of flexible and modular placement of various accessories and pockets, which allows personalization and optimal adjustment of the item to the specific needs of the user. It is widely used by the military, special services and survival and outdoor enthusiasts.
Woojin buckles are a type of buckles and fasteners made of high-quality materials such as polyamide or polypropylene, which ensures durability and weather resistance. They are widely used in the manufacture of backpacks, bags, clothing and tactical gear, providing sturdy, reliable and easy-to-use fasteners.
PALS (Pouch Attachment Ladder System) is a modular mounting system for pockets and pouches, used in the MOLLE system. It consists of horizontally sewn rows of 1 inch (25.4 mm) wide, fixed spacing webbing (such as on a backpack) and vertical webbing for attachment and threading (on a pocket). This system is usually equipped with snaps, which further secures the pinned items.

Review summary
Customers praise this first aid pouch for its strong build quality, durable materials, weather resistance, and versatile mounting options for belts, backpacks, and MOLLE gear. They highlight the well-designed layout, practical compartments, quick access, and efficient organization of essential medical supplies. The kit feels compact and lightweight yet offers good capacity for its size, which makes it useful for EDC, shooting ranges, motorcycle trips, hiking, and travel. The main drawbacks are the limited space of the outer pouch when the inner insert is fully packed, tight loops and pockets for larger items, less stable mounting in some setups, and the reflective cross, which some users find unsuitable for tactical use. Some reviewers also consider the price slightly high, but most still see it as a reliable and well-thought-out product worth buying.

Setting aside the quality of materials, etc. (because it's Helikon), the functionality of the first aid kit is okay. You can fit the most important things, depending on what the user expects. A minor note about the place for attaching rescue scissors - longer scissors may be problematic when closing the red part (because the Velcro is about 2.5 cm when closed), and then if it's tightly packed and if the tip sticks out, there may be a problem with closing the zipper. As for the price, I think it's slightly overpriced, but considering that this is a very solid product, it's worth paying every extra penny. Because it is compatible, it fits well on the side of the Wisport Sparrow II 30l backpack. The space for the tourniquet is a bit tight and could be problematic in an emergency, but with a bit of training, everything is possible.

A first aid kit compatible with equipment, well made, waterproof, resistant to abrasion, weather, and field conditions. Easy to organize. It fulfills its function, I recommend it.

I’ve had it for over half a year, and unfortunately I’ve had to use it several times during that time. The build quality and the materials used ensure its durability—both the outer pouch and the actual first aid kit itself. As for the middle section, I can say this: I appreciate the number of compartments and pockets, as well as its capacity. Another important advantage is the ability to open the kit quickly and easily. The only thing is that the elastic loops inside could be a bit wider, because larger bandages have to be forced in by stretching the elastic. As for the outer pocket for the first aid kit itself, I have a few remarks. First, it could be larger or elastic. Once the kit is fully packed, the pocket is hard to fasten. Because of the large reflective cross on the front, you have to cover it with something if you want to take it into tactical use. But overall, I recommend the product.

Cool, solid first aid kit. Lots of pockets, organizational insert included. The best possible camouflage on the market, which is pencott wildwood. On the downside, the mounting straps are too wide, so to attach it without any slack to something with standard MOLLE, you need to use zip ties, for example.

As expected from Helikon, a very well-made product. Now you just need to organize the equipment to suit yourself, pack/attach it to the backpack, and hopefully, it will be needed as rarely as possible—which I wish for everyone.

I bought this first aid kit with complete confidence and I must admit it exceeded my expectations – the Helikon Modular Individual Med Kit is truly a well-thought-out product. First of all, the construction is very solid – made of Cordura® 500D, which gives a sense of security in more challenging field or outdoor conditions. The pocket has ideal dimensions, allowing you to fit most basic first aid supplies, and the universal medical insert with Velcro panel and elastic straps makes it very easy to organize the contents, so everything is always at hand and I don't have to worry that something will move during transport. Additionally, the ability to mount the kit both vertically and horizontally on a belt, MOLLE/PALS platform or backpack straps is a huge advantage – it lets me adapt it to my own needs, whether I’m going hiking, to the shooting range, or just taking it on a long trip. To sum up, this is a first aid kit I can wholeheartedly recommend to anyone looking for a reliable, solid, and well-designed solution for EDC, outdoor use, or emergencies – it’s definitely worth its price and deserves a spot in every kit.
-
Cool, good to have a first aid kit without contents, bought on sale so it was a good deal, useful for a trip to the mountains 2+1. It will provide space for the most necessary things in case of emergency.
-
Big disappointment. The build quality is very good, but the usability is very average. The outer case has such a capacity that the inner first aid kit has to be half empty in order to close it. The first aid kit itself is full of tiny pockets holding 4-5 plasters each. You can forget about placing an individual dressing or anything that is not flat. This is the first unsuccessful purchase from Helikon.

An interesting set of first aid kits from Helikon, I would say they are medium-sized. I am especially satisfied with the red one because the number of pockets and the way of organizing first aid supplies are very useful. The strong side handles are also a good idea. The red one is made of a different material than the olive one, but I carry it more inside the backpack, whereas the olive one can be carried more on the outside. I only replaced the plastic hook with a metal one. The pockets force you to organize reasonably what should go where.
-
Well made, as you would expect from Heliokon. Spacious with easy access to the contents and good organization of dressings. Plus for the ability to attach it to a belt, MOLLE/PALS platform or your own carrying strap.
-
Well-made first aid kit, solid material, and a thoughtful design. Thanks to the modular construction, it's easy and quick to access the contents – I have one for the shooting range, and another permanently attached to my BOB.
-
High-quality workmanship. I needed something for my belt to carry a first aid kit/hit marker. Everything is fine, but the horizontal mounting is quite loose and doesn't hold securely on the belt. The kit is more suitable for vertical mounting on a vest. I had to find another solution.
-
Good quality first aid kit, as is basically everything from Helikon and Direct Action. I recommend it, I keep 2 dressings in it (one Olaes and something else), and a CAT tourniquet at the bottom.
-
Very good pouch for a first aid kit. The size is perfect for me. Durable material, seems resistant to tearing. The zippers operate smoothly, and it fits everything I wanted. I personally recommend it.
