Helikon-Tex Patriot Fleece - Jungle Green

A zippered fleece jacket in black that provides thermal insulation in low temperatures, while allowing excess heat and moisture generated during exertion to be expelled. The Helikon-Tex Patriot is made from high-quality fleece with a grammage of 380 g/m2. Thanks to the ample fit, a thinner sweatshirt and other insulating layers can be worn underneath the fleece. The back section is slightly extended to protect the kidneys from the wind, yet the entire jacket is short enough to allow easy access to pockets and equipment carried on a belt.

Breathable fleece

The fleece is made from 100% quick-drying polyester with a grammage of 380 g/m2. The material boasts a high degree of insulation and breathability, allowing excess moisture to be wicked away, preventing chills. The fabric is durable and resistant to damage, making the jacket suitable for outdoor activities in challenging terrain, both during hikes and while undertaking tactical tasks. The material on the elbows is additionally reinforced, which increases its wear resistance.

Adjustable hood

Protection against cold and wind is provided by a spacious, enclosed hood. Its size allows for wearing a winter hat without restricting movement. It features a soft visor to shield the wearer from water running directly down the face. The hood is attached to the collar in such a way that it covers the neck when worn. Its adjustment is done with elastic cords, allowing the hood to be tailored according to needs.

Spacious pockets

The jacket is equipped with six spacious and well-thought-out pockets:

  • two chest pockets
  • two sleeve pockets on the shoulder level
  • one on the left sleeve on the forearm
  • one pass-through pocket at the back above the hips

The pockets are secured with durable and reliable YKK zippers. The zippers are additionally finished with fabric tabs, making them easy to grip even with thick gloves. Additionally, inside the chest pockets, there is a divider for a phone and openings for threading cables, e.g., from headphones.

Velcro panels, adjustable cuffs, and elastic drawstring

On the shoulders, there are Velcro (hook and loop) panels that allow for attaching patches, insignia, unit emblems, or so-called Morale Patches. The sleeves are equipped with adjustable hook and loop cuff closures, allowing for their circumference adjustment. An elastic drawstring is placed at the waist to prevent the jacket from lifting up from the bottom and causing a chill.

    This is probably my best purchase ever. Excellent fleece. Warm and comfortable. The number of pockets and their placement are just right. The zippers are sturdy and work well. Big hood with a brim. I usually wear it as an outer layer, but sometimes I put it under a jacket. If anyone is considering buying it, I 100% recommend it, you won't be disappointed.

    The recent frosts prompted me to buy this piece of clothing. It is spacious enough to wear sweatshirts, sweaters, or other fleeces underneath, but it is more difficult to put a jacket over this fleece, so I mostly use it as an outer layer. The underarm pockets are cool, although overall there are a bit too many pockets for my taste, and I still don't know what the pass-through pocket on the back is for; sometimes I put a scarf or gloves in there. The fleece is warm and comfortable, has a good hood, and a great color. I recommend it.

    I have the MK2 version of this fleece, which I really like, but I've always been interested in how its first edition looked. This version is slightly thicker than the MK2, so it provides a bit more warmth. In my opinion, it will work better when walking with a backpack equipped with a hip belt, because the pockets are conveniently placed and easy to reach. I also prefer the adjustable cuffs featured in this release. When it comes to sizes, I have the MK2 in 3XL, while this model is 2XL, and both fit great. I definitely recommend it – I'm taking it with me on a camping trip next week and can't wait to use it.

    I wore this fleece for the first time in October and immediately knew it would be my favorite fleece for cooler days. The fleece is comfortable, lightweight, and really warms you up, much better than I expected. There are literally pockets everywhere. The sizing is correct. Good quality, good materials, good price.
