Helikon-Tex SFU Next Mk2 Pants PolyCotton Rip-Stop Military Pants - Shadow Grey

An upgraded take on the classic SFU Next military trousers. While retaining the familiar look of the previous model, the pants have been thoroughly reengineered for improved fit and comfort. Integrating elastane into the material enhances flexibility and offers increased freedom of movement. Designed to deliver outstanding defense against both cold and heat, as well as mechanical injuries, these pants also assist in effectively camouflaging your silhouette.

Reinforcements on the knees and buttocks, easy adjustment of the pants to the figure

SFU, often called combat pants, are designed to offer comfort and full freedom of movement, with additional fabric reinforcing high-wear areas such as the knees and seat for enhanced durability.

The pants feature no metal components aside from the waistband adjusters and utilize buttons, including at the fly, for secure fastening. Waist size can be modified easily thanks to the adjusters, eliminating the necessity of a belt. Front belt loops are equipped with additional loops, making it possible to attach gear such as a tactical lanyard.

8 spacious pockets

Convenient organization of small gear is ensured by the presence of eight pockets:

  • two spacious cargo pockets secured with Velcro closures
  • two compact pockets designed for extra gear, such as a spare magazine
  • two traditional hip pockets
  • two back pockets with protective flaps

Ergonomically shaped knee reinforcements are compatible with internal protective pads.

Main features

  • Constructed with a RipStop weave for enhanced durability
  • Fabric blend: 48% cotton, 50% polyester, 2% elastane

The previous old version had much larger pockets, plus pouches in the cargo pockets, a pocket on the right calf, and now it is hard to fit even a regular smartphone, and when taking the trousers off even the pepper spray can fall out of the pocket. They are saving on material, the material is worse, there is less of it, there is less of everything, and on top of that it is 50 PLN more expensive. A Polish company? I think I will switch to foreign ones next time.

They work great for airsoft — they are comfortable, fairly flexible, and equipped with plenty of large pockets. So far, I haven’t managed to find suitable protective knee inserts for them, even though space was նախատեսված for them. I bought the version in the VZ.93 pattern, and they fit the Hungarian forest very well.

The trousers are comfortable, fit well, and do not restrict movement. The material is lightweight, breathable, and durable. They have plenty of pockets, including large ones on the legs. They performed excellently while running in the forest and during airsoft games.

I definitely preferred the Mk1 model. The thigh pockets are sewn in reverse – when I try to take something out of them, the front is closed and I have to reach all the way to the back, putting my hand in all the dirt after sitting down. In the previous Mk1 version, access was from the front side. At least the hip pockets have remained like in jeans, instead of those slanted ones that would cause things to fall out. Does anyone know if Mk1 in size 32W/32 is still available for purchase somewhere?

Unfortunately, these are not the tried and tested SFU trousers I've been buying for years. First the originals, then the next (II) – with a certain sizing, D-rings on the belt loops, a wide (traditional) cut, fantastic internal pockets with elastics in the cargo ... You can't blame the store – they sell what they get from the manufacturer. But I think you can blame Helikon. The cut of THIS SFU model means smaller dimensions for labels like XL, XXL, etc., a straight cut with narrow legs, no internal pockets in the cargo or on the calves, and narrower pockets "for magazines or a phone." The only improvement is Velcro in the waist adjustment instead of regular straps. Using the name SFU in this case misleads the customer. It's a pity.

If I am not mistaken, SFU stands for Special Forces Uniform, and there is something to it. These pants don't have unnecessary gadgets, they're a bit more fitted compared to basic BDUs, but that doesn't mean they're tight. Modified pockets, sturdy material, elastic waist, button fly. All of this creates quite an armored whole, I think they will withstand a lot.

Another pair added to my collection. I bought the trousers in March this year, and so far nothing bad has happened to them. The color holds, they don't wear out, and they don't come apart. The trousers are perfect both for outdoor use and everyday wear. I recommend them, they're worth every penny.

I recently ordered two pairs of pants for my husband, and we've been buying Helikon pants for years. We noticed that lately this company's products have significantly dropped in quality. The sizing has changed, the material quality, sewing, and cut (fewer pockets in the same model of pants, buttons falling off). It's a real shame. I probably won't buy Helikon products anymore, although I definitely won't give up militaria.pl.

They are comfortable and sturdy. I have used them during physical work and hiking – even thorny bushes don’t damage them. The upper pockets could be a little wider because I find it hard to keep my hands in them comfortably. Despite this minor flaw, they work great both for hiking, airsoft, and at work. It's nice that they are also available in wz.93 pattern version.

Class in itself. Comfortable, practical and "armored." I recommend it. I have been using Helikon pants (various models) for years and this cut is especially to my liking.

I bought these pants over a month ago. Until now, I had always used Pentagon BDU pants. Comparing these pants to Pentagon BDU, I can say there are some benefits that fit me better. For clarity, the pants were washed according to the manufacturer's instructions. After wearing these pants daily for 8-12 hours, here are my thoughts: - The size selection is fine (for longer walks, the fit gives more comfort) - Compared to Pentagon BDU, the proportional size is wider in the waist, and the fit of the legs to the shoe suits me better (I'm 170cm tall and wear XXL pants) - The material is thinner than Pentagon BDU, but it is more breathable, which helps on warmer days. In winter, you need to use thermal clothing (e.g., Helikon LVL 1 and 2 works well) - The ripstop is almost invisible, and the material is 'pleasant' to touch (for the black color) - The side thigh pockets, thanks to the use of Velcro, are 4x faster to access than with buttons. It's a pity they used Velcro only on the back side instead of both sides - Unfortunately, at this price, I expected better stitching quality (after the first wash, threads started to stick out around the servicing and insert-holding pockets) - For my preferences, using buttons for the pants was not a good idea when they could have used a metal YKK zipper (like in Pentagon BDU) - I had to sew the buttons on myself because I would have lost them along the way (one already came off) In summary, I give it 4/5 due to the flaws. Maybe I just got a faulty batch, but I didn't expect such problems with these pants, especially from Helikon. [Would I buy them again?] - I think so, but I would also consider other models. It depends on your expectations and the tasks you need the pants to fulfill; they meet my expectations satisfactorily. [Is the price-to-quality ratio compared to cheaper pants like Pentagon BDU ok?] - It's ok.

The trousers look good, are comfortable, and fit great. They are perfect for the transitional period and summer. Size L was right for a height of 175 cm and a weight of 85 kg. They have many practical, deep pockets. I definitely recommend them.

Extra pants. This is already my third pair of FSU. The color lasts a long time. A bit cold in winter, but great for autumn and spring. This is certainly not my last pair.

I tested it for two weeks in the bush in Uganda! There was a small tear at the seam at the back, but that's just a minor thing. I think the product has a great quality-to-price ratio.

Helikon SFU Next Mk2 military pants PolyCotton Rip-Stop - Black, these are already my third pair of this type. This time I bought black ones. With a height of 180 cm and a weight of 85 kg, size L is just right. Most Helikon pants I have are size M. But it's better to take a bigger size for these.
