Helikon-Tex SFU Next Mk2 Pants PolyCotton Rip-Stop Military Pants - Black

A refined take on the classic SFU Next military trousers, these pants maintain the familiar silhouette of the previous version while being completely reengineered for improved cut and wearer fit. The addition of elastane to the material provides the fabric with enhanced flexibility and increased freedom of movement. Offering excellent protection from both cold and heat, as well as mechanical damage, they also aid in concealing the wearer’s silhouette.

Reinforcements on the knees and buttocks, easy adjustment of the pants to the figure

SFU (commonly known as combat pants) offer a high level of comfort, ensuring freedom of movement. Areas most exposed to wear, such as the knees and seat, are reinforced with an extra layer of fabric for enhanced durability.

These trousers feature no metal components apart from the waist drawstring adjusters. Closure is secured with buttons, including at the fly. The drawstring at the waist allows for easy adjustment of the fit, eliminating the need for a belt. Front loops equipped with laces at the front serve as attachment points for extra equipment, such as a tactical leash.

8 spacious pockets

With the help of eight pockets, small items can be carried with ease:

  • two spacious cargo pockets secured with Velcro
  • two smaller compartments perfect for accessories such as an extra magazine
  • two traditional pockets at the hips
  • two back pockets reinforced with patches

Ergonomically shaped knee reinforcements are suitable for housing internal protective pads.

They are comfortable and sturdy. I have used them during physical work and hiking – even thorny bushes don’t damage them. The upper pockets could be a little wider because I find it hard to keep my hands in them comfortably. Despite this minor flaw, they work great both for hiking, airsoft, and at work. It's nice that they are also available in wz.93 pattern version.

Class in itself. Comfortable, practical and "armored." I recommend it. I have been using Helikon pants (various models) for years and this cut is especially to my liking.

I bought these pants over a month ago. Until now, I had always used Pentagon BDU pants. Comparing these pants to Pentagon BDU, I can say there are some benefits that fit me better. For clarity, the pants were washed according to the manufacturer's instructions. After wearing these pants daily for 8-12 hours, here are my thoughts: - The size selection is fine (for longer walks, the fit gives more comfort) - Compared to Pentagon BDU, the proportional size is wider in the waist, and the fit of the legs to the shoe suits me better (I'm 170cm tall and wear XXL pants) - The material is thinner than Pentagon BDU, but it is more breathable, which helps on warmer days. In winter, you need to use thermal clothing (e.g., Helikon LVL 1 and 2 works well) - The ripstop is almost invisible, and the material is 'pleasant' to touch (for the black color) - The side thigh pockets, thanks to the use of Velcro, are 4x faster to access than with buttons. It's a pity they used Velcro only on the back side instead of both sides - Unfortunately, at this price, I expected better stitching quality (after the first wash, threads started to stick out around the servicing and insert-holding pockets) - For my preferences, using buttons for the pants was not a good idea when they could have used a metal YKK zipper (like in Pentagon BDU) - I had to sew the buttons on myself because I would have lost them along the way (one already came off) In summary, I give it 4/5 due to the flaws. Maybe I just got a faulty batch, but I didn't expect such problems with these pants, especially from Helikon. [Would I buy them again?] - I think so, but I would also consider other models. It depends on your expectations and the tasks you need the pants to fulfill; they meet my expectations satisfactorily. [Is the price-to-quality ratio compared to cheaper pants like Pentagon BDU ok?] - It's ok.

The trousers look good, are comfortable, and fit great. They are perfect for the transitional period and summer. Size L was right for a height of 175 cm and a weight of 85 kg. They have many practical, deep pockets. I definitely recommend them.

Extra pants. This is already my third pair of FSU. The color lasts a long time. A bit cold in winter, but great for autumn and spring. This is certainly not my last pair.

I tested it for two weeks in the bush in Uganda! There was a small tear at the seam at the back, but that's just a minor thing. I think the product has a great quality-to-price ratio.

Helikon SFU Next Mk2 military pants PolyCotton Rip-Stop - Black, these are already my third pair of this type. This time I bought black ones. With a height of 180 cm and a weight of 85 kg, size L is just right. Most Helikon pants I have are size M. But it's better to take a bigger size for these.

Great pants for a great price. The quality and comfort is top level and with the separately purchased knee pads it's the perfect work pants. It's durable and works for any hard job! Recommended!

The cheaper, basic model of Helikon pants. Compared to UTP, we have a slightly different cut (looser and less fitted), fewer pockets, and slightly less functionality. Buttons instead of a zipper. The pants are worth buying, but keep in mind that they are a 'simplified' version compared to the more expensive model. Bonus points for the Rhodesian camouflage :)

These pants are really sturdy. The hip pockets hold their contents better than most others and have a more jeans-like style – they are rounded, not slanted like in typical pants of this kind. They could be a little deeper, by about an inch. The cargo pockets have both advantages and disadvantages. The advantage is that they don't have those annoying internal dividers that usually catch on objects when putting something into the pocket. The downside is that the flaps on these pockets seem to be sewn on backwards – the front is where the back should be, and the velcro is at the back. I don't understand why this was designed that way. It makes it difficult to put your hands in and makes it easier to lose something from them when sitting down. It would be better to sew the flaps on the cargo pockets the other way around. Even better – instead of stitching, use a secure button.

One of my favorite Helikon pants, this is already my second pair; I also have the wz. 93. Very comfortable, look good, great material. Lots of pockets. I recommend them.

For me, these Helikon trousers are already a legend, better fitted but still comfortable, good pocket placement - however, there's no calf pocket like in the lower model. Their biggest flaw, as with all Helikon trousers, is the poorly sewn buttons - the first one falls off in 4 out of 5 pairs. The manufacturer could improve this in trousers costing 200-300zl. If a button falls off again, I will start leaving negative reviews - but I'll still buy the next pair.

I never thought this would happen, that I would write a negative comment about this series... The latest SFU Next Mk2 line... the sizing chart has been shifted downwards, I bought consciously by jumping "up" a size to match the previous sizing. Today, the equivalent of the former XL is something between 2XL and 3XL... in short, clearly Chinese sizes are winning over normal European ones... This really isn’t the main issue, though. What Helikon did with the trousers as a whole is a disaster... the legs are narrower than ever in this series... in short, these are trousers for people who care about their figure in every detail – if you are 175cm tall, weigh over 75kg, and, God forbid, go to the gym, forget about getting your calves through the pant legs, not to mention your thighs... The "top" of the pants – the crotch, the waist – nothing fits properly, it’s too short, too low, just strange... Since this series appeared, what, 15-20 years ago? I only wore these trousers. This time, I see the end. Time to return to buying American products which usually keep a consistent sizing and are made without oddities... And just so you know, for about 10 years now I’ve kept a constant weight and measurements, and unfortunately SFU Next Mk2 just doesn’t fit at all.

The pants fit great, are very comfortable, and solidly made. The Rip-Stop material withstands intense use, and the numerous pockets are very practical. The camouflage looks great in the field. Definitely worth the price — I recommend them!

Very comfortable and nice pants. The size matches the size chart. Excellent both in the field and for everyday use. The biggest plus - durability and quality of workmanship.
