The black, long-sleeved Helikon-Tex thermal shirt serves as the second layer in the U.S. Armed Forces uniform system, known as ECWCS (Extended Cold Weather Clothing System). Crafted from lightweight, robust, and thermally efficient Comfort Dry fleece, the shirt quickly draws moisture away from the skin while maintaining insulation. The integration of elastane in the fabric provides excellent stretch, guaranteeing unrestricted movement.

Thermoactive Comfort Dry fleece

Constructed from Comfort Dry thermal fleece, the underwear incorporates 95% polyester and 5% elastane for enhanced flexibility and durability. The advanced fabric design ensures rapid drying and efficiently transports moisture away from the skin, maintaining exceptional thermal comfort amid strenuous activity. An innovative grid-structured weave optimizes the evaporation area, and fleece fibers deliver reliable thermal insulation when temperatures drop. Full compatibility with the ECWCS system and other thermal layers ensures outstanding suitability for both cold and transitional climate conditions.

Well thought-out cut, high collar

Designed with long sleeves that incorporate thumb holes, the shirt ensures the sleeves stay securely in place during active movement and adds extra warmth to the base of the hands. An elongated back panel prevents the shirt from riding up when crouching, offering enhanced coverage for the lower back and kidney area against the cold. Flat seams are used to reduce the likelihood of skin irritation. A high collar shields the neck from wind and cold, while a long front zipper allows for convenient adjustment of ventilation.

    A great and probably somewhat underrated Helikon product. A very interesting and pleasant material on both sides. It can be worn under a jacket in winter, but it also works well as an outer layer because it has a nice cut. It retains warmth well and wicks heat away. A great long-sleeve shirt for autumn and spring days.

    This is already a cult Helikon product, as long as they still maintain their former manufacturing standard. I bought this fleece sweatshirt together with identical trousers in 2014, although not from militaria.eu, but from an authorized seller in my city. I have to admit that it is hard for me to find anything better in terms of quality. I still use it to this day — I removed the pilling with an ordinary fabric shaver — and it still keeps me warm, wicks moisture effectively, and dries quickly. It is also comfortable enough that when it is cold at home, you can sleep in it instead of putting on pajamas.

    The shirt is very warm and works great as a second layer on cooler days. The Comfort Dry material wicks moisture away quickly and dries fast, while also retaining heat well. I really like the high collar, long zipper, and thumb holes – they truly increase comfort during trekking. The extended back and flat seams are also a big plus, especially on longer walks. The only downside is that with intensive use, the material may start to pill slightly over time.

    Great shirt for cooler days and winter. Thanks to the zipper, you can easily adjust the level of warmth. I wear it as a second layer, and over it I put on a fleece sweatshirt and a Helicon Tex Level 7 winter jacket. I add the fleece only in really low temperatures. In other cases, an undershirt and this shirt are enough. The quality of workmanship and thermal comfort are very good. The most important thing is to dress properly in layers. Delivery, as always, was शानदार!
