While looking for a versatile, durable, and above all waterproof bag for frequent travel, field exercises, and outdoor trips, I chose the Highlander Storm Kitbag 45L. After several really tough tests, I can say that the name “Storm” is definitely no coincidence. The biggest advantage of this bag is the material used. It is made of very thick PVC tarpaulin with a waterproof finish. The material resembles what is used for truck tarps or professional dry bags. During a downpour, the bag lay in the bed of a pickup truck, and its contents remained completely dry. Dust and dirt can be removed easily with a damp cloth or simply rinsed off with water from a hose. The 45-liter capacity turns out to be very well balanced. The bag does not feel too large, while at the same time it easily holds a full set of clothes, spare shoes, a sleeping bag, a towel, and a basic set of tools or equipment. Its size also often makes it possible to use it as carry-on luggage on a plane or bus.
