Ka-Bar Apex 5500 Fixed Blade Knife - Green
Fixed blade knife with a Clip-Point profile, designed for precise outdoor tasks and everyday use. The blade is made from D2 high carbon tool steel, while the green handle is crafted from GFN (Glass Filled Nylon). The set includes a polymer sheath with the option to change the mounting side.
D2 high carbon steel
The blade is made from D2 high carbon tool steel and hardened to 59-61 HRC. This material is highly resistant to abrasion and maintains its sharpness very well, making it suitable for heavy-duty use.
Clip-Point blade, matte coating
The Clip-Point blade with a thickness of 3.5 mm features a black, matte protective coating. The slender shape of the blade combined with a flat grind ensures high cutting precision and good control for detailed tasks. The plain edge is excellent for both cutting and wood carving.
Ergonomic GFN handle
The handle is made from GFN composite (Glass Filled Nylon) - nylon reinforced with glass fibre, making it impact-resistant and suitable for intensive use. The design is tapered at the front and back and thickened in the middle for a secure grip, while the textured surface helps prevent the knife from slipping out of your hand. There is a hole in the base for attaching a lanyard or paracord.
Polymer sheath
The set includes a polymer sheath with a drainage hole for water and debris removal. The knife is secured by two snap straps, and the double-sided design allows you to change the side of the mount to suit your preferred carry method.

Militaria.pl is a premium dealer of Ka-Bar.
Ka-Bar is a brand whose history dates back to the late 19th century, and which gained real fame during World War II, when the Fighting Utility model was officially adopted by the US Marine Corps. The durable and versatile knife quickly became legendary, proving itself both in combat and in the daily tasks of soldiers. The name Ka-Bar itself comes from the 1920s, when a trapper described in a letter how he managed to “kill a bear” with a Union Cutlery knife. In 1952, wanting to emphasize the power of this symbol, the company officially changed its name to Ka-Bar Knives Inc., and its products are still considered a model of reliability today. An important chapter in the brand's history is also its collaboration with Ethan Becker, which resulted in the Becker series, highly valued by users, combining practical solutions with a modern approach to knife design.

GFN (Glass Filled Nylon) is a nylon reinforced with glass fiber, offering low weight, high durability, and resistance to moisture and many chemicals. The material performs exceptionally well in demanding conditions, maintaining its strength even under intensive use. GFN surfaces may be completely smooth or textured to improve grip, providing better control and overall ergonomics. The robustness of GFN handles has made this material a standard in the production of EDC (Everyday Carry) knives as well as lightweight tactical designs.
