This is a very good, small accessory, although its promotional price really ought to be the regular one — at most around 7 euros. I have even seen it priced at 20 euros on amazon.de and similar sites, which I consider quite excessive for a small S2 steel piece with a rather blunt, rounded carbide tip. That is exactly why I am giving it 4 stars. The carbide tip is not sharp enough, and its point is rather rounded, so more force is needed to break glass. This leads to my second concern: whether the force required to shatter a car window or other tempered glass, for example thick triple-glazed thermal-insulation windows in modern apartments or houses, may turn out to be too great. I also wonder whether the bit holder and the screws fastening the Leatherman together will withstand such an impact without damaging the tool itself and the bit. I do not intend to test that just for the sake of testing — of course it is better to lose the tip and damage the tool than to fail to escape a fire through a window — but ideally the whole setup would not only work, but also survive such a situation. I have a Leatherman ARC, and although I would not hesitate to accept the cost of a new tool if it were to save a life or help escape a dangerous situation, it would be even better not to risk losing nearly 300 euros spent on the tool and the bit. I bought my set on sale: 255 euros for the tool and about 7 euros for the bit. Despite these reservations, I am glad I bought this carbide-tipped bit, and I keep it in the bit holder all the time so that it is immediately at hand. In a sudden emergency there is no time to look for it and swap bits. For normal screwdriver use, however, it is not a problem to temporarily insert a different bit. It is only worth remembering always to put the carbide-tipped bit back into the holder in the tool after finishing work, so that it is ready for immediate use when it turns out to be needed.
