Charge is the best universal multitool in the whole Leatherman range. It has everything you need for a hobbyist and is made from good steel. It's worth paying extra compared to the Wave. And if you can afford it, even to the titanium version.
Leatherman Charge Plus Multitool
Leatherman Charge multitool stands as the flagship offering from the renowned American brand and remains a top choice among multitools in its category. Drawing inspiration from the iconic Wave model, this multitool boasts an enhanced design and utilizes superior materials for improved performance. Featuring 19 integrated tools and a 25-year warranty!
Upgraded edition equipped with replaceable wire cutters!
Robust stainless steel frame, lightweight handle scales
Crafted from premium stainless steel, both the frame and all included tools undergo professional heat treatment, achieving optimal hardness for each individual part's intended use. Handle scales are constructed from 6061-T6 aluminium and feature a hard-anodized coating for superior scratch resistance. With a matte finish and precisely rounded edges, the black anodized aluminium handles deliver a secure and comfortable grip, enhancing operational confidence when using the pliers.
2 locks: Liner-Lock and Back-Lock
Smooth-edged knife blade, serrated blade, saw, and file can be accessed without having to unfold the pliers. Knife blades feature thumb holes, enabling rapid one-handed deployment. These four tools are each secured by individual liner-locks, while the remaining tools utilize a pair of ratchet locks similar to the back-lock mechanism.
154CM steel main blade
A standout attribute is the exceptionally smooth knife blade, forged from high-quality, wear-resistant 154CM stainless steel, a material rarely found in standard multitools. Featuring premium-grade steel and an easy one-handed opening mechanism, the Leatherman Charge stands out as a strong contender to traditional folding knives.
Equipped with screwdriver sockets and an assortment of double-sided bits in multiple configurations, this multitool is well-suited for extensive assembly tasks and the maintenance or repair of diverse gear.

A solid and very useful pocket knife. With the set of bits and an additional extension, it's like a small toolbox. Very useful equipment. It costs quite a bit, but it's an investment for years. It's worth carrying it in a holster or pocket because its weight can be bothersome in trousers.

Very useful tool. I bought it for my EDC kit and it really comes in handy every day. Having a set of tools at hand means that I often use this for repairs at home instead of looking for screwdrivers, pliers, or wrenches. The set of interchangeable bits is a great invention—torx, hexes, flathead, and Phillips screws are no problem. The knife is really sharp—you could shave with it. Plus a belt clip and a pouch. I'm very happy with the purchase. My wife was less happy when she found out how much it cost, but quality comes at a price.

Tool bought about 6 years ago at the militaria.pl store in Gdynia. Since then, it's been with me every day. At first on my belt, then replaced by a Victorinox Cybertool, later moved into a Helikon bag, and finally into a bag or backpack. If I had to point out a tool that has helped me out of tough situations multiple times, it's the Charge. Loose bolts after a ride in the woods, damaged fender, punctured tire and inner tube needing replacement, broken brake pads from a fall, hot pot over a campfire, or basic things like a TV mount that needed adjustment, cabinet doors at my parents' house, etc., etc. The list goes on. This tool is not treated gently and endures it bravely, although it already shows that it hasn't just sat in a drawer :) I sharpen it regularly, wash it every six months under the tap with a brush, then dry it and apply a little knife oil (in critical points!)... and that's it. I've looked at other, new multitools more than once, but quickly realize that this Charge has everything I need. For me—it's a blast. If I had to point out a flaw, there's only one—its weight. But I understand that's the price of its robustness. I recommend it! It's much more expensive now than when I bought it, but it's really worth it. It's a solid tool for years that will endure a lot.

Buying the Leatherman Charge Plus Black was one of the best decisions I’ve made recently. Right after picking it up, you can tell it's a solid, perfectly made tool. All the tools are precisely fitted and work smoothly, without looseness or excessive resistance. You can feel it’s a premium product you can rely on. As for functionality – I’m impressed! The Charge Plus has everything I need day-to-day: precise scissors, a very sharp knife, and various screwdrivers that have already saved me in unexpected situations. I often use it at work, but also when traveling or at home when something needs to be fixed quickly. The black version looks great – elegant and at the same time tactical, and the coating holds up well, even after intensive use. Plus, the holster makes it easy to comfortably carry the multitool on your belt. The Leatherman Charge Plus Black is a multitool that truly makes a difference. For me, it replaced several other tools, and now I can’t imagine any trip or workday without it. The price is higher, but absolutely worth it – this multitool is an investment for years!

Except for one aspect—everything is well fitted and I have no complaints about the workmanship. The downside is the wire cutters. I received a multitool from 2023, with wire cutters rounded at the pivot. Because of this—you cannot cut the wire placed in the default position at the pivot (it won't cut through), you have to position the wire about 1 mm from the pivot. This is annoying and to me it's a design flaw. I've seen on YouTube that these types of cutters can also break. There was no problem with cutters before 2022 (they used to be square ended), and now—in 2024, apparently it's already fixed, but in any case, I'm holding off buying more LM multitools.

Nice and useful equipment. Helpful if you don't have anything with you, it can save you in various unexpected situations. Solidly made, useful tools, and one set of bits included. It's a bit of a shame that the quality control seems to be lacking recently, as the scissors are a bit loose, although it doesn't affect their use. Unfortunately, there is also some play in the regular and serrated blades, which I think shouldn't happen at this price. All in all, a very good tool that every man should have, because it really comes in handy. And 25 years warranty is something no one else offers. Militaria store as always is awesome, fast free shipping, which is a big plus and thank you for that. Highly recommended.

Everything you need, the blade is impressive, it opens with one finger. Solid construction, nothing wobbles. I use it every day at work, the purchase will probably pay off soon. The interchangeable bits in the set and the holster are well made.

Great tool. Class in itself. I recommend it to anyone thinking about a serious work tool. Worth its price. The best Leatherman I've owned so far.

The tool is very handy and makes everyday life easier. It's a high-quality product designed for people who need an alternative in tough situations without a toolbox. I received a faulty item, and after the first attempted repair (unsuccessful), the store refunded me the purchase cost on the second attempt, which nowadays and in the current market is not a common practice. Militaria PL proved to be customer-friendly and handled the matter reliably. Although I'm left without the tool, I can honestly recommend the store. They are professionals.
-
Very solid multitool, you can feel the steel quality by the weight—the knife is so sharp from the factory you could shave with it. The scissors cut well, and the included bit kit is a big plus.
-
Like any Leatherman, great build quality and durability. Nothing to add, nothing to take away. In the set, there's a basic bit kit; I recommend buying the Bit Kit and ratchet, as the website recommends. In the photo below, it's already fitted with the clip for a belt or pocket.
-
Another Leatherman for the collection, solidly made, great selection of tools. I recommend it.

Leatherman Charge is a class of its own. I've had it for a few days, it's solidly made. Big boys love these kinds of toys.

Switching from the Wingman, everything looks promising except for the lack of spring-loaded pliers. Slightly bigger but also more features—compared to the Surge, the size is definitely acceptable for me. I recommend it.
