CPM MagnaCut
CPM MagnaCut is a stainless tool steel developed by Crucible Industries and produced using powder metallurgy (CPM). It is characterized by high strength, high wear resistance, and very good corrosion resistance, despite its relatively low chromium content (10.7%). The steel is comparable to the best tool steels, such as CPM-4V or Vanadis 4E, offering high resistance to cracking and chipping. Thanks to the use of free chromium and carbides formed mainly by vanadium (4%), CPM MagnaCut is less brittle and resistant to abrasion, even with a hardness of 60-64 HRC. In addition, the presence of niobium (2%) and molybdenum (2%) ensures stability at high temperatures, making the steel ideal for harsh working conditions. The composition of CPM MagnaCut also includes 1.15% carbon, which ensures adequate hardness and edge durability, making this steel valued in the manufacture of tools and weapons.
G10
G10 is a lightweight and extremely durable material, considered one of the best for knife production. It is created by pressure-pressing fiberglass with phenolic resin, which gives it high durability and resistance to mechanical damage. It is chemically inert, does not conduct electricity, and retains its properties at both low and high temperatures. In terms of parameters, it is similar to carbon fiber, but its production is much cheaper. G10 handles are manufactured by precision cutting and cutting, which increases the cost of processing but ensures a perfect fit and long knife life.
Bead Blast
Bead Blast is a blade finishing technique that involves treating steel with a stream of fine ceramic or glass beads under high pressure. It gives the surface a uniform matte, satin-gray appearance without any light reflections. The surface obtained in the sandblasting process is smooth and aesthetic, but due to micro-pores, it may be slightly more susceptible to wear and corrosion if the blade is not properly protected. Wave is really a well-made tool, you can immediately see the solid construction. All the parts fit well, the tools open smoothly, and there are no loose components. The most important elements—the knives, screwdrivers, and pliers—are practical and truly useful, not just for show. The Obsidian color looks great and does not show signs of use as quickly as the glossy version. It might be a bit too heavy for a pocket, so a holster or carrying it in a backpack is better, especially for everyday use. At first, it may be a little stiff until it "breaks in," but later it works more smoothly. This is a multitool that really works and is a pleasure to use, without unnecessary disappointments.

Is this tool really worth such a price? It's hard to say. But it is definitely a better version of the iconic Wave Plus. The blade has a great shape, the large scissors are definitely better than the tiny ones, the pliers are more comfortable to use than in many other tools. It's a bit of a shame that some of the tools are still inside, unlike tools from the Free series, but the pliers themselves are fairly loose and can definitely be opened with one hand. At its original price, I'm not convinced, but on sale – the tool is definitely worth recommending!
