I tested it at springs, and it successfully got rid of the typical metallic, iron-like aftertaste. It’s easy to use and weighs next to nothing, so from now on I’ll be taking it on every hike.

A very successful refresh of the iconic filter! The new Peak series is much more convenient to use than the previous model. The biggest advantage for me is the introduction of a standard thread at the bottom – thanks to this, you can screw the filter directly onto an ordinary plastic bottle or connect it to a hydration system. The water is well filtered, the flow is now smoother, and you no longer need to use as much force while drinking. The Dark Gray color looks elegant and is hard to get dirty. The filter weighs only 65 grams – it’s a great choice for light trekking or an emergency backpack. I definitely recommend it!

It is exceptionally lightweight and takes up very little space, allowing you to drink water directly from natural sources, streams, or other bodies of water. The new Peak version feels more solid and durable than previous models – it's also easier to clean while out in the field. This is one of the most practical accessories for trips, an emergency backpack, during survival or outings to areas with questionable water quality. I also appreciate the option of using the filter not only as a “straw,” but also with selected compatible soft bottles and canteens. You only need to keep in mind that LifeStraw Peak is designed to remove bacteria, parasites, and mechanical contaminants – in case of risk of chemical contamination or presence of viruses, it's worth using additional purification methods. For most tourist applications, this filter works excellently and is very reliable.

Filter is a cool thing, I can share a little tip I got from a friend: for the filter to last longer, first filter some regular clean water through it so the filters don't absorb dirty water dry on the first use. This way, it should last longer.
