MultiCam camouflage
MultiCam represents an advanced camouflage design introduced in 2002 by Crye Precision, a US-based company, in partnership with the United States Army Soldier Systems Center (Natick Labs) under the Objective Force Warrior initiative. The primary objective was to engineer a highly adaptable camouflage pattern capable of performing effectively across diverse terrains and under fluctuating environmental conditions. Featuring a palette of seven distinct colors, the MultiCam pattern achieves seamless gradient blends between greens, browns, and beiges. This allows for dynamic adaptation to surroundings, whether blending into verdant woodland areas with green hues or merging into arid regions with brown and beige tones—its effectiveness in Central and Eastern Europe is particularly notable during autumn and in dried vegetation. MultiCam has received global acclaim and has been adopted by various military and special operations units. In 2010, the US Army officially selected the pattern for use by personnel deployed in Afghanistan, replacing the earlier Universal Camouflage Pattern (UCP). Availability to civilians has also contributed to its popularity among military and airsoft enthusiasts.
