LKW Kwaiken by Radosław Łęgowik Fixed Blade Knife - Brown Micarta

Knife featuring an overall length of 229 mm and employing a Full Tang construction, where the tang extends through the entirety of the handle. The blade measures 105 mm in length, sports a Straight Back profile, and is crafted from O2 Bohler K720 tool steel, making it highly effective for a wide range of bushcraft activities. The cutting edge is crafted with a Hollow grind. A stonewashed finish provides a subdued, matte appearance. Handle scales are constructed from Micarta in a brown color. The design and production are the work of Polish knifemaker Radosław Łęgowik.

Polish project

Radosław Łęgowik stands out as a Polish craftsman and the founder of the LKW - Libra Knife Works brand. Since 2007, he has been creating hand-crafted knives, all designed according to his proprietary patterns—every knife is individually produced in his workshop, where he oversees the entire production process, including hardening and heat treatment. His range features both tactical knives with a modern aesthetic as well as fully functional survival knives.

O2 Bohler K720 Tool Steel

Forged from high-carbon O2 Böhler K720 tool steel and hardened to 59 HRC, the knife delivers outstanding performance in demanding environments. Thanks to the carefully selected material and precise heat treatment, the blade offers exceptional durability, crack resistance, and excellent edge retention. Furthermore, the steel is simple to sharpen, even in outdoor settings—an essential feature for bushcraft and outdoor use.

Straight Back Profile, Hollow Grind

Equipped with a 105 mm-long blade and a 4.4 mm thickness, the knife features a Straight Back profile engineered for superior tip durability. Especially suited for outdoor and EDC use, this blade shape excels when both high piercing performance and precise handling are needed. Features a Full Tang build, ensuring the blade’s tang extends throughout the entire handle for enhanced strength and reliability.

Incorporates a Hollow grind, delivering a razor-sharp edge while preserving overall blade robustness thanks to a minimally high grind. Uses a Stonewash finish that helps mask scratches and produces a non-reflective, matte appearance.

Micarta Handle, Lanyard Hole

An ergonomically contoured handle crafted from Micarta—a robust, waterproof material made with epoxy resin—ensures a firm and reliable grip under any circumstances. The non-slip texture further enhances grip security regardless of the environment. A lanyard hole is integrated at the end of the handle.

Rigid Kydex Sheath, Belt Loop

Included in the set is a sturdy sheath crafted from lightweight and impact-resistant Kydex material. Each side of the sheath is equipped with holes and grommets, providing versatile attachment options to compatible gear. A belt loop is located on the sheath’s reverse side for secure mounting on a belt.

O2 feature
O2
O2 is a medium carbon tool steel (approximately 0.9%) characterized by good hardness, abrasion resistance, and strength. Its carbon content ensures high hardness in the range of 58-60 HRC after appropriate heat treatment, which allows for a durable cutting edge. This steel also contains small amounts of manganese (0.3%) and silicon (0.2%), which improves its hardenability and structural stability. O2 is relatively easy to machine, making it a popular choice for the manufacture of cutting tools, industrial knives, files, and cutting tools. It is susceptible to corrosion and therefore requires proper maintenance and protection against rust. Due to its abrasive properties and hardness, O2 steel is mainly used in work tools that require wear resistance.
Kydex feature
Kydex
Kydex is a thermoplastic, durable material commonly used in the production of knife sheaths. It is resistant to impact, scratches, and changing weather conditions, and has very low moisture absorption. The sheaths are molded directly onto the knife, which guarantees a perfect fit, high durability, and complete safety—the blade remains securely in place even during dynamic movements. Due to its durability and customization options, Kydex has gained popularity in the tactical and survival industries. Sheaths are often equipped with additional mounting holes with metal eyelets, which increase their durability and allow for easy attachment of buckles, clips, or loops to a belt or harness.
Stonewash feature
Stonewash
Stonewash is a blade finishing technique that involves treating steel in a drum filled with stones, ceramic abrasives, or beads. The impact of the material creates a characteristic, irregular pattern with micro-scratches, giving the effect of a matte, slightly “aged” surface with a raw, practical appearance. The finish gives the knife an aesthetic look and masks minor scratches and marks that occur during use, keeping the blade looking like new for longer. The matte texture reduces light reflections, which is valued in tactical and outdoor knives, and the micro-scratches can further reduce friction during cutting. Due to its durability, discreet appearance, and ease of maintenance, stonewash is popular in EDC, field, and tactical knives.
Micarta feature
Micarta
Micarta is a composite material made of layers of fabric (including canvas, linen, and paper) soaked in resin and pressed under high pressure and temperature. It is characterized by high mechanical strength, resistance to impact, abrasion, and changing weather conditions, as well as dimensional stability, which makes it ideal for knife handles. The surface of Micarta provides a secure grip and can be finished smooth or left with a slight texture to improve control over the tool. The material does not conduct heat or electricity, tolerates contact with moisture well, and acquires a characteristic patina over time, emphasizing the individual style of the knife. Thanks to its combination of durability, environmental resistance, and unique appearance, Micarta is widely used in EDC, outdoor, and collector's knives.
