LKW Master Crusher by Radosław Łęgowik Fixed Blade Knife - Brown Micarta

Massive knife with Full Tang construction and blade thickness of 4.4 mm. The Drop-Point profile blade is made from O2 Bohler K720 steel, known for its ease of sharpening, good edge retention, and high corrosion resistance. The handle of the knife is made from Micarta in brown color. It is suitable for bushcraft expeditions, survival, and setting up camp in the field. The design and creation of the presented model are by Polish knifemaker Radosław Łęgowik.

Polish design

Radosław Łęgowik is a Polish knife maker and founder of the brand LKW - Libra Knife Works. Since 2007, he has been hand-designing and crafting knives based on his own patterns - each piece is created in his workshop with full control of the process, including hardening and heat treatment. The offer includes both tactical knives with modern styling and fully functional survival knives.

Tool steel O2 Bohler K720

The knife has been made from high-carbon tool steel O2 Bohler K720 hardened to a hardness of 59 HRC. The used material, combined with precise heat treatment, is characterized by high strength, crack resistance, and good edge retention. Additionally, this steel is easy to sharpen, even in the field, which is particularly important for a knife intended for outdoor and bushcraft purposes.

Drop-Point profile, flat grind, jimping

The blade is 165 mm long and 4.4 mm thick, having a Drop-Point shape and a well-marked belly, increasing the tool's efficiency during cutting. The edge is processed with a flat grind reaching halfway up the blade height. The false edge on the upper part of the blade increases piercing capability and creates a sharp tip for tasks requiring high precision.

On the spine, at the thumb rest area, there is jimping (serrations) to facilitate control over the blade during cutting. The blade surface is finished using the Stonewash method, making the blade more matte and scratches formed during use less visible.

Micarta handle, cross guard, lanyard hole

Ergonomically shaped handle made from Micarta, which is a durable and waterproof material based on epoxy resin, ensures a firm and safe grip in all conditions. The handle is additionally equipped with a cross guard to prevent the hand from slipping onto the blade while working with the knife. At the rear part of the handle, there is a lanyard hole. In the rear, the tang of the knife extends beyond the handle scales, allowing it to be used for emergency glass breaking and as an additional field tool.

stiff Kydex sheath, belt loop

A set includes a stiff sheath made from lightweight and damage-resistant Kydex material. The holes and channels on each side of the sheath allow for multi-position mounting to equipment. A belt loop is placed on the back of the sheath for belt attachment.

O2 feature
O2
O2 is a medium carbon tool steel (approximately 0.9%) characterized by good hardness, abrasion resistance, and strength. Its carbon content ensures high hardness in the range of 58-60 HRC after appropriate heat treatment, which allows for a durable cutting edge. This steel also contains small amounts of manganese (0.3%) and silicon (0.2%), which improves its hardenability and structural stability. O2 is relatively easy to machine, making it a popular choice for the manufacture of cutting tools, industrial knives, files, and cutting tools. It is susceptible to corrosion and therefore requires proper maintenance and protection against rust. Due to its abrasive properties and hardness, O2 steel is mainly used in work tools that require wear resistance.
Kydex feature
Kydex
Kydex is a thermoplastic, durable material commonly used in the production of knife sheaths. It is resistant to impact, scratches, and changing weather conditions, and has very low moisture absorption. The sheaths are molded directly onto the knife, which guarantees a perfect fit, high durability, and complete safety—the blade remains securely in place even during dynamic movements. Due to its durability and customization options, Kydex has gained popularity in the tactical and survival industries. Sheaths are often equipped with additional mounting holes with metal eyelets, which increase their durability and allow for easy attachment of buckles, clips, or loops to a belt or harness.
Stonewash feature
Stonewash
Stonewash is a blade finishing technique that involves treating steel in a drum filled with stones, ceramic abrasives, or beads. The impact of the material creates a characteristic, irregular pattern with micro-scratches, giving the effect of a matte, slightly “aged” surface with a raw, practical appearance. The finish gives the knife an aesthetic look and masks minor scratches and marks that occur during use, keeping the blade looking like new for longer. The matte texture reduces light reflections, which is valued in tactical and outdoor knives, and the micro-scratches can further reduce friction during cutting. Due to its durability, discreet appearance, and ease of maintenance, stonewash is popular in EDC, field, and tactical knives.
Micarta feature
Micarta
Micarta is a composite material made of layers of fabric (including canvas, linen, and paper) soaked in resin and pressed under high pressure and temperature. It is characterized by high mechanical strength, resistance to impact, abrasion, and changing weather conditions, as well as dimensional stability, which makes it ideal for knife handles. The surface of Micarta provides a secure grip and can be finished smooth or left with a slight texture to improve control over the tool. The material does not conduct heat or electricity, tolerates contact with moisture well, and acquires a characteristic patina over time, emphasizing the individual style of the knife. Thanks to its combination of durability, environmental resistance, and unique appearance, Micarta is widely used in EDC, outdoor, and collector's knives.

A large, solidly made camping knife. It can handle chopping even fairly thick branches, and with a bit of determination it will work as a field kitchen knife. I recommend it.
