MAPA Camouflage
The MAPA camouflage pattern was developed by Maciej Dojlitko, an alumnus and current researcher at the Faculty of Architecture and Design at the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdańsk. He is also the author of the publication Theory of Deconstruction of Visual Communication. Tools for Designing Military Camouflage (Gdańsk 2015). The original concept, backed by substantial theoretical research and experimental data—including computer analysis of thousands of landscape images—quickly gained recognition from experts and military apparel manufacturers. In 2017, the MAPA camouflage premiered at the International Defence Industry Exhibition in Kielce as the official pattern for equipment and uniforms in the Dromader system by Maskpol, a member of the Polish Armaments Group. Designed initially for the Territorial Defence Forces, the MAPA pattern was also evaluated as a potential replacement for the wz.93 camouflage across the entire Armed Forces of the Republic of Poland. To date, the MAPA camouflage has not been adopted as the official camouflage pattern of the Polish Armed Forces.

The camouflage does the job. Besides that, it's a very solid cap, with a big plus for the large front Velcro panel and Velcro circumference adjustment. It seems breathable – to be confirmed on warmer days.

I was tempted by the camouflage because I finally wanted to have a MAPA product. The workmanship on first touch seems really very good! Impressions after wearing – all positive. The so-called polycotton blend – perfect. I don't know my head circumference (it's not big), but the cap fits perfectly after adjustment. I honestly recommend it to anyone considering buying a cap – go for it, it's worth it.

When it comes to MAPA caps, this model deserves attention compared to previous ones, mainly because it is compatible with hearing protectors – there's no snap on the top of the cap that could press into your head. It would be nice if they added a cloth under the brim to wipe your forehead. It's OK.

We'll see how it performs in higher temperatures and with longer wear, but the first impression is surprising: the material is thin and delicate to the touch, which can be a great option for summer. For a head circumference of 59, it needs to adjust a bit around the brim area so it doesn't press on the temple.

Good cap. I was looking for a bit deeper one than the classic 'Helikonka cap' and I wasn't disappointed. The thin material, just like in the uniform, so it's lighter and will tire your head less in the summer. I recommend it.
