I'm a fan of MAPA camouflage. The neck warmer is great, works well on colder days. I mainly use it for protection against cold wind. But even on very sunny days I happened to use it as head and neck protection. I recommend it.

The MAPA camouflage pattern was created by Maciej Dojlitko, a graduate and current research staff member at the Faculty of Architecture and Design at the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdańsk. He is also renowned for his work The Theory of Deconstructing Visual Communication. Tools for Designing Military Camouflage (Gdańsk 2015). This innovative design, supported by solid theoretical and experimental evidence—including computer analysis of thousands of terrain images—has drawn attention from both experts and military apparel manufacturers. The MAPA pattern made its debut in 2017 at the International Defense Industry Exhibition in Kielce as the official camouflage for the Dromader gear and uniform system by Maskpol, a company within the Polish Armaments Group. Originally designed with Territorial Defense Forces in mind, MAPA was later considered as a potential successor to the wz.93 camouflage for the Polish Armed Forces. Despite its merits, MAPA has yet to be adopted as the standard camouflage pattern for the Polish Army.
Main features of the MAPA camouflage in the basic forest configuration:
- 6 hues arranged in layers reminiscent of map contour lines,
- shades specifically optimized for use in Central European woodlands,
- incorporation of three-dimensional visual illusion and anamorphic effects,
- biomorphic forms that echo the look of natural vegetation,
- prominently contrasting elements simulating the play of light and shadows,
- macro pattern used to break up and distort the wearer’s silhouette,
- micro pattern employed to simulate color “noise” in nature.
The MAPA design stands out as an intriguing alternative to leading camouflage patterns like PenCott, MultiCam, Kryptek, Flecktarn, and Finnish M/05. In several regards, it offers superior features and more faithfully represents the palette of Central European forests from late spring to early fall.
When compacted, occupies minimal space for easy pocket storage. The scarf’s multifunctional design allows it to be worn in various forms, such as a balaclava, face-covering scarf, headband, beanie, or neck shawl.

The Maskpol STM-03 scarf in MAPA B camouflage, which I would call spring-summer, as it contains more "lush" green than MAPA A. It is slightly wider than the Maskpol STM-01 scarf, but made of a slick and shiny material. The photos posted here do not show this. According to the label, the material contains 95% polyester and 5% spandex, which ensures high elasticity and stretchability.

The Maskpol STM-01 scarf in MAPA A camouflage, which I would call summer-autumn. Slightly narrower than the Maskpol STM-03 scarf, but made of a more pleasant-to-touch material. The "edge" is not secured and frays quickly.

The scarf is light and airy, ideal for summer. Unfortunately, contrary to the description, it is not suitable against wind and cold. I am attaching a photo of the thickness of the scarf and a comparison with another version (in the photos it's the longer and wider one). Postscript: I understand that MAPA is not camouflage for winter, but some warmer items from Maskpol would be appreciated.

The scarf is very pleasant to the touch, the material is elastic and doesn't feel like tissue paper, as in some products. Cool camouflage. And made in Poland.

Very well made, great material, excellent camouflage. I would give 5 stars but: - for me, the neck warmer is too short (if it were 15cm longer, I could cut the base on both sides and make a "bib" so the warmer would go deeper onto the back of the neck and front of the throat); besides, you can't make a classic ninja-style balaclava - a bit too tight - with a well-developed trapezius muscle, the base of the warmer rides up - solution described above - the material is too thin for winter
