I bought them as a replacement for an old pair of trekking shoes for everyday use, as well as for occasional walks in the woods and on uneven, rocky terrain. I took them on a test trip to the forest and did a bit of climbing in them — I was very pleased with both the fit and the comfort. I usually wear a size 9, sometimes 10; my previous shoes were size 10, and I chose these in 9.5. They provided good support and a sense of stability. I had to tighten the laces a few times, but that was mainly because I hadn’t laced them tightly enough at first. That’s not a problem — next time I’ll just do it better. So far, I’m happy with them. Later this year I’ll be taking them to Scotland, so I may have a chance to see how they handle water.
