Midland G18 Pro NC Radio - Black

Radio delivering 0.5 W output power, operating within the license-free PMR frequency spectrum and offering an effective communication range of up to 12 km. Outfitted with an advanced Noise Cancelling system, the unit guarantees reliable and crystal-clear transmission. With a lightweight build and user-friendly controls, the radio is ideal for outdoor expeditions and professional applications that demand consistent connectivity.

Radio device configured to operate on a frequency of 446 MHz (PMR), offering a maximum communication range of up to 12 km. In urban environments with buildings and obstacles, the typical range is between 1 and 2 km. In areas with moderate development and dispersed trees, the coverage extends to 4-6 km. When used in open terrain without obstructions between antennas, communication is possible over a distance of 12 km.

A key attribute of the radio is the Dual Watch capability, which permits simultaneous monitoring of two channels. Operators can work within a chosen band at two separate frequencies—transmitting/receiving on the main frequency while receiving on an auxiliary frequency—using a dedicated button to switch between primary frequencies.

The Midland G18 Pro NC provides a range of personalization features, such as enabling FM radio and Compander functions. Programming via a PC is required, utilizing optional software and a PRG-G15 programming cable (both not included in the package) to access these features.

Equipped with a Scrambler feature for voice encryption, secure conversations within a group are ensured. The integrated VOX function activates automatic reception and transmission without manual button pressing—simply speak, and the unit seamlessly switches to transmit mode.

Constructed from robust materials, the casing delivers superior durability. An advanced internal sealing mechanism guarantees a water resistance level of IP67 and complies with military specifications MIL-STD810G. Equipped with a 1600 mAh lithium-ion battery, the G18 Pro NC provides up to 22 hours of continuous operation on a full charge. An easily readable LCD display with orange backlighting enhances visibility.

CTCSS (Continuous Tone-Coded Squelch System) and DCS (Digital Code Squelch) are two radio communication techniques designed to filter out irrelevant signals and minimize interference. Utilizing these systems enables radios to receive only transmissions embedded with the correct tone or code, proving invaluable in situations where numerous operators share similar or identical frequencies. Offering significant advantages for maintaining the clarity of the communication channel, they help avoid unintentional reception from unauthorized sources—a crucial feature for both professional and hobbyist radio use.
