First outing and I was immediately surprised at how quickly it picks up the signal, practically without delay. The biggest difference for me is that I stopped digging up just anything, because it's easier to assess whether it's worth it. This equipment is probably for someone who already knows what they're looking for, not for someone who just wants to see what comes up.
The Manticore metal detector features a waterproof 11" coil allowing effective use in harsh weather conditions as well as underwater, to a depth of 5 meters. The package includes additional Double-D 15" and 8" coils. Integrated Multi-IQ+ technology ensures highly accurate target identification and detection capabilities.
Operation is possible in 10 different modes: All-Terrain (5), Beach (4), and Goldfield (1). User profiles can be individually programmed for customized detection. Thanks to Multi-IQ+ technology, the detector operates with simultaneous multi-frequency, delivering maximum sensitivity for various object sizes and types while reducing ground interference. The 2D ID Map system offers pinpoint accuracy in targeting and item identification. The 5-level depth indicator helps users rapidly estimate find depth.
With five frequencies, the detector can be adjusted for the specific type, depth, and site conditions of the search. Low frequencies are optimized for locating larger or deeply buried objects such as militaria and large silver coins. High frequencies are ideal for detecting smaller or lower conductivity items like bronze pieces, gold nuggets, and jewelry. The Pinpoint function enables accurate finding location determination.
A color LCD display and illuminated buttons improve readability and operation in dim conditions. The integrated LED flashlight with 3 brightness settings supports nighttime searches. The detector is powered by an internal Li-Ion battery delivering up to 10 hours of operating time and charges with the supplied cable in about 7 hours.
With an IP68 waterproof rating, the detector remains water resistant up to 5 meters. The adjustable-length shaft consists of lightweight, durable carbon fiber and folds down to 63 cm for portability. High-quality audio signalling is provided through an integrated speaker. The Wireless Audio Module enables seamless pairing with the supplied wireless ML105 headphones, while vibration alerts are integrated into the handle.

After longer use, you can see what you're paying for. The device 'reads' the ground very well, the signals are clear, making it easier to distinguish something valuable from ordinary junk. In tougher areas, where other detectors can get confused by interference, this one keeps working steadily without acting up. There's no delay in response—you can move smoothly without constantly stopping. It takes a moment to get used to the settings because there are quite a few options, but that's more of an advantage than a drawback. Once you get the hang of it, you can adjust the operation exactly to the terrain and your preferences. The construction is solid, and it sits well in the hand even during long walks. This equipment is not for someone who just wants to turn it on and go without thinking, but if you’re looking for something more advanced, I recommend it. It isn’t cheap, but technically and functionally, it’s worth the price.
