MWT Za-Pas Knife Stonewash G10 - Black

Knife with a Full Tang construction and a total length of 345 mm. The 200 mm long Drop-Point blade is made of 80CrV2 tool steel, which is characterised by wear resistance and easy sharpening. The handle scales are made of lightweight and durable G10 laminate. The set includes a sheath made of damage-resistant Kydex.

Drop-Point blade, 80CrV2 steel, jimping on the spine

The Drop-Point profile blade is made of high-quality 80CrV2 tool steel, characterised by high resistance to chipping and abrasion. The edge is ground with a flat grind, ensuring increased resistance to damage. The blade is finished using the stonewash method, which gives it a semi-matte effect. Jimping is placed on the blade spine, allowing for secure thumb support and increased control over the blade while making cuts.

G10 laminate handle scales

The handle scales are made of G10 laminate. The ergonomic shape and non-slip texture of the handle ensure that the knife sits securely in the hand. An additional index finger choil helps protect against the hand slipping onto the edge.

Kydex sheath

The robust Kydex sheath is equipped with multi-position mounting holes that allow safe and convenient carry of the knife in several ways. It can be attached to a belt, mounted on PALS system webbing for example on a backpack or tactical accoutrement, and is also compatible with a Tek-Lok type mount thanks to the properly arranged mounting holes.

80CrV2 feature
80CrV2
80CrV2, also known as NCV1, is a European carbon-chromium-vanadium steel with high impact strength and good abrasion resistance, classified as spring and tool steel. It contains approximately 0.75-0.85% carbon, which ensures high hardness, while chromium (0.4-0.7%) increases abrasion resistance and improves hardenability. After hardening, the steel achieves a hardness of 58-61 HRC, while maintaining high resistance to cracking. The steel is widely used in outdoor knives, bushcraft knives, work tools, and bladed weapons, where durability and reliability in harsh conditions are required.
G10 feature
G10
G10 is a lightweight and extremely durable material, considered one of the best for knife production. It is created by pressure-pressing fiberglass with phenolic resin, which gives it high durability and resistance to mechanical damage. It is chemically inert, does not conduct electricity, and retains its properties at both low and high temperatures. In terms of parameters, it is similar to carbon fiber, but its production is much cheaper. G10 handles are manufactured by precision cutting and cutting, which increases the cost of processing but ensures a perfect fit and long knife life.
Kydex feature
Kydex
Kydex is a thermoplastic, durable material commonly used in the production of knife sheaths. It is resistant to impact, scratches, and changing weather conditions, and has very low moisture absorption. The sheaths are molded directly onto the knife, which guarantees a perfect fit, high durability, and complete safety—the blade remains securely in place even during dynamic movements. Due to its durability and customization options, Kydex has gained popularity in the tactical and survival industries. Sheaths are often equipped with additional mounting holes with metal eyelets, which increase their durability and allow for easy attachment of buckles, clips, or loops to a belt or harness.
Stonewash feature
Stonewash
Stonewash is a blade finishing technique that involves treating steel in a drum filled with stones, ceramic abrasives, or beads. The impact of the material creates a characteristic, irregular pattern with micro-scratches, giving the effect of a matte, slightly “aged” surface with a raw, practical appearance. The finish gives the knife an aesthetic look and masks minor scratches and marks that occur during use, keeping the blade looking like new for longer. The matte texture reduces light reflections, which is valued in tactical and outdoor knives, and the micro-scratches can further reduce friction during cutting. Due to its durability, discreet appearance, and ease of maintenance, stonewash is popular in EDC, field, and tactical knives.

A piece of knife made of good tool steel. Excellent sharpness retention and hardness parameters for a knife of this type. However, you should remember about maintenance. Great knife. I recommend it.
