Nice small flashlight for EDC, I'd even say it's one of the best from Olight, with several operating modes and powered by either regular, widely available batteries or the included rechargeable battery.

The Olight Diffuse flashlight may amaze some with its original shape, while others may be deterred by the lack of features usually found in EDC flashlights. Its pentagonal smooth casing certainly prevents it from rolling off flat surfaces, but the lack of any knurling means it provides much less grip. The lack of a clip and magnet significantly limits the ways you can use this flashlight outdoors. Additionally, the side, flat switch can be a problem for a hand wearing a glove. Similarly, the fairly flat rear cap that closes the battery compartment can be problematic. However, all these inconveniences don't matter much if you use the Olight Diffuse as a flashlight for urban conditions or not too demanding off-road or tourism. Its most significant feature is the variety of lighting modes, including a very useful 50-lumen mode in which the flashlight can run on the 14500 li-ion battery for over 7 hours. Importantly, the side switch is also surrounded by a colored light ring to indicate battery discharge level. But even if the battery is completely drained, it's not a problem in urban conditions since you can almost always use any AA 1.5V battery. However, using AA batteries has its downsides, as it limits the Olight Diffuse to three lower power modes and disables the indicator ring function. Additionally, some online reviews state that not every AA battery is accepted by Diffuse electronics, although personally, I had no problems even with cheap AA batteries. So, you lose some, but you still have a reliable source of light in a waterproof, compact package, and the temporary lack of a 700-lumen mode is, overall, a minor loss. In summary, taking advantage of a promotion, for a modest amount compared to other similar solutions, you get a branded product whose functions and capabilities will meet your daily needs, and the wide range of operating modes and power sources mean it’s well-suited for more demanding use, too. Plus, it’s just a really pretty little flashlight.

A very good flashlight as expected from Olight. Its small size lets it fit everywhere, which is an advantage for EDC. The material also feels solid. The power of this small thing is really impressive. The range is also quite reasonable. Turbo and strobe modes work very well. Charging time really is about 3.5 hours. We'll see how long it holds up. The price is very good and appropriate to the quality, although the quality exceeds the price. Nothing left to do but get it in this price range. Highly recommended!

Great flashlight, the i5r modification is nice, it's great that it can be powered by a 3.7V battery as well as regular AA batteries. The color is perfect for a woman's handbag and the 5 lighting modes are fantastic.

Strong and lasts long on the battery. But the best feature of this flashlight is the number of operating modes. Many flashlights have a lot of power but only 100% and 50% modes, which makes them annoying if you don't need 200 or 400 lumens on a lower mode. Switching between modes is intuitive and you remember it after 2 minutes. The build quality, as expected from Olight, is excellent. I used another model for 5 years until it failed only because the battery leaked.
